Changes include... Color - Drop Carbon Gray and Cardinal Red... Add Galaxy Gray and Dark Plum Mica Sport and Touring trim - NO functional changes. No passenger side armrest, no stability control, etc. Grand Touring trim - New trim available. GT trim will add to the Touring Xenon HID headlights, heated leather seats, and blacked out headlight/taillight bezels

As it stands now, according to Mazda's specs, it's not even rated to tow, period. That being said, I've heard rumors in other countries that it can tow. Regardless, in my honest opinion, if you're planning to tow on a regular basis or with some good weight, it's probably in your best interest to look elsewhere. There's only so much that the 2.3L I4 and it's mated tranny can handle. There will technically be a new color of interior on the GT trim. The leather that comes with it will be some expresso brown color (like a reddish brown from my understanding), so that will not help the heat! And I still have NO clue on pricing. I ordered the vehicle from my dealer with the understanding that '07 pricing will be release at a later date. I should be getting that information soon, though, as the build date is approaching in the near future and I'll even have a VIN for it probably next week too. I ordered the Touring with 5MT, Whitewater Pearl ($250 extra), SIRIUS, and DVD Entertainment System, and I think we came up with a guesstimate figure of $20,500. While this isn't specifically pertaining to Mazda, general prices increase only a few hundred dollars from year to year... I'm not expecting to pay over $21k. Oh, and BTW, that price is right in between MSRP and Invoice as of the time of the quote. If a dealer isn't budging from MSRP on a 5, look elsewhere... they're in high demand but not to the extent that you should be charged any sort of premium. I'm very excited... I'm taking vacation in Key West the last week in August so I'm anxiously wondering which'll come first!

My wife and I ended up buying a 2006 Honda Pilot to replace my 2001 Escape. I just couldn't pass up the deal I ended up getting. I'm walking away from the dealership tomorrow with a new 2006 Honda Pilot for $20,250. Hope everyone gets what they want with their 5's and good luck. I may pop in from time to time just to see what kind of upgrades the newer models will get, who knows, maybe my wife will want to trade her '03 Accord in a few years for a 5. Odie Odie's Carspace |

Hi all. I've been lurking here for a while as my wife and I consider getting a Mazda5. My wife really likes this car, but I've been encouraging her to hold off until the 07's come out. (I've always worried about buying the first model year of a car.) Now, however, I'm wondering if maybe we shouldn't just pick up an 06. It looks like they've held up pretty well. Also, it doesn't look like we'll be seeing a lot of new features in the 07. I'm thinking that this might be the right time to get a deal on an 06. Thoughts? Thanks. |

Really the biggest issue I've had so far is trying to find accessaries for the Mazda5. Something else to keep in mind. I believe the 07's come with a 3yr/36k miles bumper to bumper warranty and a 5yr/60k miles powertrain warranty. The 06 has a 4 yr/50k mile bumper to bumper and powertrain warranty. I personally perfer the longer bumper to bumper warranty. |
