So much that some people who really want want might get angry about Mazda's response, and turn away from it like a VW. The 5 speed tyrany is not much to ask for anyway. Like many prospective buyers have stated, the wait and see game don't get anyone to buy the product. Bad bad strategy. Mazda wanted to lead the market with the Mazda5 by offering a hot product that is available in Europe. But still, Mazda is holding its punch. You could hold it, because it's not hitting me now. And the other competitors would have hit the target until you do you little testing. |

Now you're going to have more people copying and pasting the exact same post in 2, 3 or more discussions because they want the most coverage for an answer. What's wrong with directing someone to a large group for a solution to a problem? Isn't that what the search tool is for? Say I'm a new Mazda5 owner who's having a problem with my stereo. Do I go to: Mazda5: Problems & Solutions? New Mazda5 Owners: Give us your report? Mazda5 Audio & Entertainment Questions? This kind of person, wanting a solution to his problem, will undoubtedly feel the need -- and the drudgery -- of posting the same question in at least three different discussions. Bad move, IMHO! Please share with the higher-ups, who I don't feel have thought thoroughly about this. I don't know much -- I've only been here six years -- but why change what works? You know, you used to break discussions every so often (that's why we had Protege 2, 3, 4, etc.). How about breaking them by year? Mazda5 2005, Mazda5 2006, etc.? That would keep your single-discussion numbers under control and still prove useful for searching for problems, wouldn't it? Just a suggestion! Meade

Although a better place to post your concerns and suggestions would be in the Forums Software! Your Questions Answered... discussion. Let's reserve this space for the 5! |

MAZDA has lost ALL of its cars on the ship that tilted to its side Yesterday on the West coast. ALL crew members have been rescued.

A lot of stuff is moving around... but let's stick to the 5 and let the housekeeping run in the background |

Replying to: epharmacist (Jul 19, 2006 6:47 am) As far as the changes for 2007, don't expect a lot. This may have already been mentioned so forgive me if I'm doing nothing other than repeating. Changes include... Color - Drop Carbon Gray and Cardinal Red... Add Galaxy Gray and Dark Plum Mica Sport and Touring trim - NO functional changes. No passenger side armrest, no stability control, etc. Grand Touring trim - New trim available. GT trim will add to the Touring Xenon HID headlights, heated leather seats, and blacked out headlight/taillight bezels

Replying to: jandree22 (Jul 27, 2006 5:33 am) Where did you find out 2007 information? Do you know if they added towing capability? Any new interior colors (black is too hot). What did you have to pay for your 2007 model? MSRP? Thanks |

Replying to: kw_da (Jul 27, 2006 10:36 am) While I haven't read this specifically, I do not believe there will be any new interior colors or towing capacity. As it stands now, according to Mazda's specs, it's not even rated to tow, period. That being said, I've heard rumors in other countries that it can tow. Regardless, in my honest opinion, if you're planning to tow on a regular basis or with some good weight, it's probably in your best interest to look elsewhere. There's only so much that the 2.3L I4 and it's mated tranny can handle. There will technically be a new color of interior on the GT trim. The leather that comes with it will be some expresso brown color (like a reddish brown from my understanding), so that will not help the heat! And I still have NO clue on pricing. I ordered the vehicle from my dealer with the understanding that '07 pricing will be release at a later date. I should be getting that information soon, though, as the build date is approaching in the near future and I'll even have a VIN for it probably next week too. I ordered the Touring with 5MT, Whitewater Pearl ($250 extra), SIRIUS, and DVD Entertainment System, and I think we came up with a guesstimate figure of $20,500. While this isn't specifically pertaining to Mazda, general prices increase only a few hundred dollars from year to year... I'm not expecting to pay over $21k. Oh, and BTW, that price is right in between MSRP and Invoice as of the time of the quote. If a dealer isn't budging from MSRP on a 5, look elsewhere... they're in high demand but not to the extent that you should be charged any sort of premium. I'm very excited... I'm taking vacation in Key West the last week in August so I'm anxiously wondering which'll come first!
