An ongoing process by pf_flyer HOST

It's a learning process for me as well

The main move is away from the HUGE discussions with several thousands posts. People are just as upset when you point them at a 5000 post discussion and say, "It's in there". That's not a good thing either.

Everything is going to be here in the 5 owners group.

Fear not, I'll put up road signs as needed!

No diesel or hybrid coming, or the lack of the 5 speed auto is a bad play from Mazda. I've heard that for 2008 model, Toyota might bring a 7 seat hybrid. In the price range of the Mazda5 Touring, there might be a competitive new Corolla hybrid. Sure, it's not the same car, but $ for $, it might be a tough call as an alternative.

I'm holding my purchase again. Mazda is doing the same thing again like last year. This starts to be a major turn down. So much that some people who really want want might get angry about Mazda's response, and turn away from it like a VW.

The 5 speed tyrany is not much to ask for anyway. Like many prospective buyers have stated, the wait and see game don't get anyone to buy the product. Bad bad strategy.

Mazda wanted to lead the market with the Mazda5 by offering a hot product that is available in Europe. But still, Mazda is holding its punch. You could hold it, because it's not hitting me now. And the other competitors would have hit the target until you do you little testing.

Specific topics = bad move by mdaffron

Now you're going to have more people copying and pasting the exact same post in 2, 3 or more discussions because they want the most coverage for an answer.

What's wrong with directing someone to a large group for a solution to a problem? Isn't that what the search tool is for?

Say I'm a new Mazda5 owner who's having a problem with my stereo. Do I go to:

Mazda5: Problems & Solutions?
New Mazda5 Owners: Give us your report?
Mazda5 Audio & Entertainment Questions?

This kind of person, wanting a solution to his problem, will undoubtedly feel the need -- and the drudgery -- of posting the same question in at least three different discussions.

Bad move, IMHO! Please share with the higher-ups, who I don't feel have thought thoroughly about this.

I don't know much -- I've only been here six years -- but why change what works? You know, you used to break discussions every so often (that's why we had Protege 2, 3, 4, etc.). How about breaking them by year? Mazda5 2005, Mazda5 2006, etc.? That would keep your single-discussion numbers under control and still prove useful for searching for problems, wouldn't it? Just a suggestion!

We already discuorage folks from posting the same thing in multiple dicsussions, so I not sure I see how that's suddenly going to start happening more often.

Seems to me that if you're a Mazda5 owner with a stereo problem, that Audio & Entertainment questions discussion is the best fit, but that's just me

But your feedback IS welcome. Although a better place to post your concerns and suggestions would be in the Forums Software! Your Questions Answered... discussion.

Let's reserve this space for the 5!

Mazda could have done worse -- two men and a truck.

That's what happens when you hire amateurs to haul your stuff.

Yesterday, when I was on this forum the number of 5 pages was up to 103, now it's back to 54. Managing content must be a frustrating job.

I have an 07 Mazda5 on order from my local dealer, and going along with rdelaney's response, my dealer's latest update is that it's being built the first week in August and I should expect delivery late August to early September. If you plan on ordering one new, do it right away as there's a very long wait because of the demand. I ordered mine in the end of May and I'm still waiting. (which is fine, I knew in advance it'd be a while)

As far as the changes for 2007, don't expect a lot. This may have already been mentioned so forgive me if I'm doing nothing other than repeating. Changes include...

Color - Drop Carbon Gray and Cardinal Red... Add Galaxy Gray and Dark Plum Mica
Sport and Touring trim - NO functional changes. No passenger side armrest, no stability control, etc.
Grand Touring trim - New trim available. GT trim will add to the Touring Xenon HID headlights, heated leather seats, and blacked out headlight/taillight bezels

Hi jandree22,

Where did you find out 2007 information? Do you know if they added towing capability? Any new interior colors (black is too hot).

What did you have to pay for your 2007 model? MSRP?

Thanks
