In case anyone is interested, you can get 3.99% financing at pentagon federal credit union (penfed.org, costs $20 to become a member)

You might be able to squeeze them a tiny bit more, but I'd guess all in all New York might be more expensive than Maryland. |

| Does $19700+tax+license+fees for a Grand Touring sound like a good deal? Thanks! | |

I've gotten a quote of $389 for Doc fee + MV Fees + Tax. Does $389 seem high or is that normal?

| I'm getting a few bites for a 2009 Mazda5 Grand Touring at $19500 + TTL, but not much below. I haven't done any real negotiating yet, just calling dealer to dealer getting competitive prices. I may just go with $19500 and be done with it, I found one specific car that I like (color) | |

We're looking to purchase a 2009 M5 touring, white, with: DVD installed + 4 headphones roof rack and roof carrier 2" hitch installed I check & the TMV for the touring WITH DVD is little over $20,000. Other features weren't offered for checking TMV. The guy I'm working with at the dealership has come back with this number for all the features we've asked for (his quote here): "The Mazda5 with all the goodies that you want would cost $24,368 OTD (that includes taxes tags, DVD, Hitch, rack etc..)". (the dealer is in VA, we live in NC but all the dealerships near us closed - this guy has been great to deal with so far, going to check competition though) I'm planning to offer to up our cash down payment by $1000 (from $5k to $6k) while at the same time asking him to drop his final number by $2k. Is this wise/reasonable? In addition, it's already been established that we are bringing our own financing (penfed) and that we'll be participating in the cash 4 clunkers program. Thanks for any advice... I've never done this before
