They allow you to either locate the car you want and negotiate the purchase price or they'll find your car and purchase it, then lease it to you. They had trouble finding the one I wanted, so now that I have found it and got the price down a bit, they are working with the dealer on the purchase and with me on the lease deal. It turns out something like this... I talked to my local dealer (Stokes Mazda, Charleston, SC, USA) and found an M5 Touring Carbon Gray, the only acc. = floormats Manual trans. US$18,800 + Tax/Title/Lic. OTD $US19,438 Now for the lease At Leasecompare.com I input all the parameters and it returned 5 or 6 offers, of which I chose the my best set of parameters (lease term, miles/year, 0 to ?$ downpayment, money factor, etc) and chose the lease option. I should be zooming next week |

Bought a Carbon Grey Manual Touring at Burt Arapahoe Mazda in the Denver area on Saturday. We ended up at Invoice ($18,346) + D&H ($349)- so just under 18,700 before taxes. They gave us what we wanted on our trade (2K), but it wasn't anything stellar so all we wanted was enough to pay off the little we owed on it and give us a little cash toward the new car. There aren't very many on the lots here (though two dealers told us they have orders coming in mid-march), we shopped around and about everyone was willing to give up that same deal. I have yet to see another one driving around here, though my husband did see one. |

Bought a Sport automatic at Thousand Oaks of Mazda, CA. The price is as follows: Base price (Sport Trim + Automatic + Popular Package Equipment + Destination Charge): $16,285 Tax and others: $1,400 I found the deal from an advertisement and it is the only car for that deal. The dealers there are really nice. It was a wonderful purchasing experience.

I've heard of people buying the Sunday paper on Saturday to do this. The problem is that there usually only 1 car and it's a funny color. David

Replying to: nsoriano (Feb 06, 2006 9:29 pm) I am in the seattle area also looking for the mazda 5 sport, automatic with sprots package in Carbon Gray. The quote you got from Renton Mazda sounds like a great deal. Why did you go down to olympia to buy instead? Did you also check out other dealers in the Seattle area? Couple of the dealers I have checked are quoting me around 18,100 to 18,400 and they are refusing to budge! I have yet to have gone to renton mazda. I am new at this so any advice is welcome!

Replying to: ladybug6 (Mar 09, 2006 9:52 pm) I bought from Olympia Mazda because they were willing to deal and the sales tax in Olympia is lower than King county's. The Renton sales manager was very rude when i tried to give them my 3rd and final offer. Renton basically said BUGOFF! I think I pushed it too far when I asked for all weather mats and another $100 off off what Olympia quoted me. Olympia straight up said they would match whatever Renton quoted. I'm not dissapointed in the least because I never got that "sleazy dealer feeling" from Olympia Mazda. I was in and out in an hour and half! And to sweeten the deal even more they even washed the Navigator while i signed all the papers! I wholeheartedly recommend them.
