Why can't we find (PAY for what we want)!
We are all paying Mazda a big chunk of hard earned money. Why can't we find what we want?
I'm looking for a Carbon Gray or Black Manual Touring model (basic). Why don't they exist?
Do the dealers think no one in the SE can drive (or prefer) a stick?
Has anyone seen this basic Touring model? Let me know if there is one anywhere East of the Mississippi.

I just looked on the Mazda website and there are 2 black manual touring and 10 other manual tourings here in the Washington, DC area.
Which I think is funny, because most people here can't drive stick

I just got back from Fairbanks Mazda here in Orlando where I got my first in person look and test drive of a 5-speed sport and I am VERY impressed. The 5 speed was brand new off the truck and buried in a sea of automatic's. They had to move exactly three M5 autos and two Mazda6's to get the 5 speed out for us to test drive. The salesman even said that everyone is wanting 5 speeds, and when I asked him why the dealerships keep ordering automatics he just shrugged. It seems to me like they're just looking at the extra money they make off automatics. Oh, and their mentality that models with all the options should be auto's and models with no options should be 5 speeds is just stupid. This isn't 1970..people don't drive 5 speeds because they can't afford automatics anymore.... Anyways..there's only one M5 5-speed touring in Florida right now (according to the salesman) and I believe it's red . I figure that I'm going to have to special order one when I'm ready to buy next month. After seeing the phantom blue I'm totally sold on that color, the pictures on the MazdaUSA website don't do it justice.

We are in Portland Oregon, I think that the add was one of those teasers, all of the dealerships in the area had one around that price last weekend(we had a car show in town). This was the last one in the paper. We were pretty lucky, it is a 5 speed so a bit cheaper there. It also had no extras at all.

I went to Fairbanks yesterday as well. Man their salesmen swarm you there. We like the Carbon Grey and they only had one and without a moonroof (sport model)? So, I am in the middle of emailing quotes from Cory and Classic. Both aren't bad but Classic is playing the $500 document fees and Cory has $1500 that I can't account for.

Talking to Cory over email I got them to give me a price of $23314 OTD for Touring with Nav, Auto mirror w/homelink, Sirius radio and bumper step plate. This ends up being about $600 over invoice I believe.

A dealer in Renton, Wa quoted me $17,916 for a Strato Blue Sport Automatic which includes the popular equipment package, wheel locks, and fog lights. I think this is a good deal, a little over $400 below invoice from the worksheet they provided. I originally got a quote for $17590 but they didn't have strato blue in a base model. The sales manager agreed to split the difference in the additional costs of the extras, I HAVE THAT IN WRITING BY THE WAY!
