adjusted market price by ndmike88

Well I guess I won't be getting a 'Beca locally. I was e-mailing a salesman at one of the largest Subaru dealers here in Nashville. Everything was going great until he mentioned the '08's would have an adjusted market price. I asked him to explain seeing that I have never ever paid anything close to sticker price on any vehicle I have ever bought (including my '04 Corvette). That was the end of the e-mails. I asked him again to explain and no reply.
If I want an '08 I guess I'll have to leave Nashville to find one.

So figuring in that dealer fee, it sounds like you ended up about $500 below invoice before taxes. Pretty darn good for a brand spankin' new '08 w/no rebates!

Glad you like it... how's the 3.6L engine?

So far so good. I have only driven about 75 miles. I traded in a Nissan Maxima so I am used to having a lot of get up and go. I used the fitzmall price as the price I was willing to pay. I forgot that this already included the dealer fee. I might have been able to get them down another $500- oh well. This is my first experience negotiating a new car purchase.

Excellent price, yes, lowest I've seen so far on any 2008 model.

A dealer with an ADM on this model simply will not sell any Tribecas. Consumers are much smarter nowadays. His cars will sit forever until he stops dreaming.

I just went to the Subaru dealership to check out the new Tribeca. I was told that there is a $500 manufacturer's rebate. I can't find any mention of this anywhere. Has anyone else heard this? We also got quoted on a limited 7 with nav, $35.95 on a car with an MSRP of $36,965. (A couple of added options..) The price looks good compared to the TMV price of which is very close to the MSRP, but it sounds like people are getting prices much closer to invoice which on this car is more like $34.5K so I've got some negotiating to do...

Does anyone have any idea what I should be able to lease the basic 5 passenger 07 Tribeca for? The subaru website has a great deal listed for an 07, but I'm not sure if that's really going to happen when I go to the dealership. I'm going to go test drive and check out all the options today....we will see how it goes.

2008 5-passenger limited w/Nav by greyhound

Just purchased a 2008 Tribeca Ltd w/nav from Gold Rush Subaru in Auburn, CA (northern California)

2008 Tribeca Ltd w/Nav
Quartz silver metallic
trailer tow package
puddle lights
cargo mat
MSRP: $36,500
My price: $34,459
Total with tax, registration: $37,309

I did almost the entire deal on the internet, soliciting bids from 6 dealers within driving range, receiving 3 live bids, and bargaining down the best initial offer by an additional $400. The dealer experience was essentially painless as all I had to do was walk in with a checkbook and pay my previoulsy agreed-to price. My feeling as to dealer response is that they are not sure just how the 2008 model will sell and are playing fairly tight with their offers as their inventories are still low. One automall dealer stated in his email the 2008s are in short supply and LARGE demand.

Am basking in the glory of a new car, smelling the leather and reading the owner's manual. First goal: programming the Homelink with gate/garage opener settings. Second goal: programming the Nav to speak in the French woman's voice.

I have received a quote for $34,199 plus tax and tags. The prices on these seem to be coming down quickly.
