The headphones for the factory DVD setup are wireless. 2 pair stow in the drawer that's located in the bottom of the center console, accessed from the second row. That plug in the 3rd row is an auxiliary input jack for iPods, video game systems, etc.

I kinda feel kids should see the land they're riding through, to appreciate the vastness and variety of the country, but I'm probably naive, since I haven't taken any trips of more than a few hours with my little guy yet. Probably makes a big difference when there's more than 1 kid in the car, too.

I agree with you, but since most time spent in the car is 'around town' doing errands, chores, etc., kids need stimulation, and their choice is visual, TV and dvds, video games. I don't mind the ocassional video game, We have a wii system and even I'll admit it's fun, but my kids don't need to be entertained 24/7, and in the car. It's bad enough the remote is the first thing they reach for...

I peeked last week and saw the 08s are about $2000 higher in price than the similar 2006s were back in May when I was car shopping.

08s are being offered at invoice to me and I am a terrible negotiator. Is anyone getting much better than this?

Hmmm, if thats their final price I think it is a little high.

The 08s I am looking at:
7 passenger limited without other options 32200 plus TTL
7 passenger limited with nav, puddles, tray 34600 plus TTL

I went to the dealers with fitzmall.com prices which are a shade under invoice and got offered invoice. Others may do better, but your "adjusted MSRP" seems high as invoice is about 31600 for a 5p limited with a couple of options.

08 below invoice by muwarrr90

I wasn't really ready to pull the trigger and buy yet, but I got a quote from a dealer here in the Chicago area for a 2008 5 passenger limited with navigation system at $32,295, $1,200 under invoice. The only add'l fees are $58 doc fee and sales tax.

Is this a good enough offer that I should move my timetable up?

Sounds like a good deal. If it helps, I pulled the trigger too soon (last week) and settled for just $100 under invoice. Not a good dealer experience (Rochester MN) with horrible stereotypical 1970s sales tactics that were frankly quite insulting. Its only because they were local that I dealt with them. Of note, Fitzmall.com have lowered their prices to 6-800 under invoice this week, which makes your deal sound sweet.

$1200 below invoice does sound like a great offer this early into the model year. Any time you can beat Fitzmall, you know you're getting a very good deal. Don't know you'd be able to do any better later, but also don't know why you'd do any worse by waiting, if you're not really ready to buy yet.
