Welcome to the fanily.

Other than first month payment - did you have to come up with any other cash?

Thanks, Its awesome, I love it. My son is going crazy over it too. I do have puddle lights, cargo tray and auto dimming mirrors. After that the dealer threw in Cargo Net, Compartment Cover and Splash Guard for free... I think not a bad deal

This is my second subaru. I still have my 97 subaru Outback with 128K with no major problems. Its still going strong... I am in a dilemma whether to sell it or not. The dealer gave me $1800 trade-in value and I decided against it.

SDAF and PDI by arothstein

The dealer in Los Angeles made me an offer of invoice+$500. As par of the invoice, I see SDAF of $275 ( I think it is an advertising fee) and PDI of $300 (I think this is the pre-delivery inspection fee). I was wondering if these are legit charges? Are they negotiable or everyone pays it?

Thank you for your feedback.

I am not sure but the PDI sounds totally bogus. SDAF is found in some markets I think.

Every thing relating to price is negotiable.

If the items are not on the pre-printed factory window invoice - then you be safe in assuming they are creation of the dealer and should be removed from the negotiations from the start.

I'm with ScoobieDoobieDoo ummm rather Subienewbie2. Everything is negotiable. Yes there are markets that push hard to get back the ad fee for that region. The other is bogus. The $500 over is what I paid. Could I have gotten a bit more off? I suspect so but my thinking is that I've done business with the sales guy before and as I've treated him fairly he has gone out of his way to take care of me. So I see it as a win/win deal. For instance I get a VERY favorable discount now on accesories...

The only other out of pocket was for title - $170.00. My total cost of $1,300 under MSRP plus a trade-in allowance of very close to Kelly Blue Book made me very happy with the buying experience. Could I have gone through weeks of back and forth for another couple hundred bucks? Sure. But my time is worth money also. Some people would look at the possibility of saving a little more as a challenge. I look at it as a pain in the ***.

Why are you so upset at the dealership you bought from. All of the mistakes you listed were things you did wrong not them. It sounds like your upset that you paid too much. Not their fault. It's a buyer beware market and you weren't very aware. You can't blame them for that. Your best service deals will be given to you by the dealer that you purchased from. It's funny everyone blames the dealer for the bad negotiating that they (the customer) did. The dealer was only doing there job, which is to hold as much profit for the store as possible. you can't hold that against them. Your goal is to allow them to make as little as possible and it sounds like you both did pretty well. don't feel bad about it. they are intitled to a profit. Just enjoy your new B9 and tell your friends that they might be able to get a better deal then you did!

don't compare it to the dealer wanting more money after the deal if they thought they gave the customer too big of a discount. that is b.s. The dealer is in the position to offer something to the customer in way of options and future service to the customer that not only was trying to get a better price at time of purchase and knew it wasn't a good deal and stated as much but also then continued after proclaiming that they were unhappy with the deal.

I was a very prepared buyer so you saying "become a better prepared buyer next time" is meaningless. I had all the facts and #'s etc. etc. They were just being stubborn about it and calling my bluff.

The end result is they lost me as a customer and I wont be going there for service or giving them any future business ever and I will be notifying SOA and giving them a bad report in the survey so in the end they lose a lot more then the couple thousand they overcharged me out of pure greed.
