Careful with your trade-in. You might want to tell the dealer that you've decided to sell the 2002 yourself, and just agree on the price of the tribeca. Make sure you know the value of your '02, and mind the difference between the trade-in, private party sale, and retail for the vehicle. go to kelly blue book-(www.kbb.com). Selling a car is a pain, but if you want to save a couple grand it may be worth it to you. I would figure that selling a VDC Subaru in Maine would be like shooting fish in a barrel. Especially now that winter's in full swing.

Thanks again, Morey. I did tell the dealer that my 2002 would be staying in the family; like you said, that way I can focus on the Tribeca price. May I ask what you think about the reverse assist sensors (? necessary if the car is equipped w/ rear camera) (Please advise if I should post this question elsewhere on the forum) Thank you, Amy

I don't have the reverse assist sensors. I absolutely LOVE the backup camera. It works very well in all lighting conditions, and the well aligned colored stripes on the display really help to position the vehicle. But- you still need to look- so having a redundant audible tone (for when you're not staring at the screen) isn't a bad idea. [Not] running into one item any time in the next few years will pay for the option. Go for it (but it's not my money)

I paid 34.8K for a 7pass DVD/NAV (Not including trade), but he included a lot of options (puddle lights, wheel locks, auto dim mirror, mud flaps, etc...)and it was exactly what we wanted. Plus they gave us a great deal on our trade ($1,100, for a 98 ford escort wagon that wasn't in the best shape). After doing all the math, they gave us everything for invoice and then took the $1,250 rebate off that price. At a minimum that is what you should get. However they did have this on the lot and it was sitting there for a few months, so they were looking to move it. I wouldn't say i got a great deal, but i think it was more then fair.

Price quote Orlando, Fl

Hi. I got a quote today on a 2006 7 Pass Limited of 2K below invoice. The internet salesman played dumb when I asked about a factory to dealer incentive (which I read about on cars101.com). When he mentioned one of the 2006 was a demo (though never titled) and had say 5,000 miles I asked what discount I would get for that. He offered an additional 1K for the mileage. Now I know that dealer incentive is 3K for that car. Do you think I can negotiate more money off for the mileage? Also should I be able to get the special financing since this is a factory to dealer and not factory to buyer?

For what it's worth I got 2 quotes for a 7 px limited 2006 NAV/DVD for $31700 . MSRP was 38 350 for both of them.
However, this is out the door cash offer with no financing and trade-in on my part.

The incentive was just upped from $2500 to $3500 from SOA.
My quote was with a $2500 rebate.
So in theory, the price should be around $30700 now on the 06 for a $38350 MSRP Tribeca.
