Thanks for all the inputs on the NAV. We decided to go with it since we like the backup camera feature. Nuvi 660 is certainly more capable (has bluetooth and nice to be able to carry / use in different car) but we think the backup camera is more important. OEM backup camera will make it more complicated. We prefer clean installation.

We got our 07 Diamond Grey 7-pas LTD Tribeca today!

Got it from Carlsen Subaru in Redwood City, CA. They were very professional and courteous. We've gotten online quotes from several dealers in the area and this one gave the best offer overall (we traded in our 97 Plymouth Gr. Voyager). The process was quite pleasant. We came in knowing the price of the Tribeca, but needed to negotiate the trade-in value. At the end, they were willing to meet us halfway over the difference.

The final price for the Tribeca was $31,750 + TTL (MSRP $36,561, invoice $34,116). It has navigation with all-weather floor mat, cargo tray, bumper cover, and auto-dimming mirror.

We almost bought it from Stevens Creek Subaru in San Jose yesterday. They offered $5K below MSRP (depending on options on the car, could mean as much as $2.5K below invoice - their profit margin on those options are high!). However when we came in to have them look at our minivan, the used car manager was unprofessional and rude, to the point of insulting. We understand that it might not be easy for them to sell an old minivan, but there are certainly nicer and better ways to say it. He was only going through the motion and told us that he would pay ZERO for the minivan (lowest KBB trade-in value is over $2,400!). The salesman that we've been working with just say, "Sorry, I can't help you. At the most, we can give you $500." To think that they were turning away a willing customer (we even brought our checkbook and title!) is simply mind boggling! Don't they know that this forum exists?

Anyway, thank you for all your help! This forum really helps us in getting a good deal on our new car. We'll sure enjoy our Tribeca!

Great deal!! I'm sure you will see a world of difference between your older mini-van and the new Tribeca!

Wow. $2300 under invoice for an '07. that's a lot of car for the money. there could be $500 or a $1K of profit in the minivan for them- but still, a great deal on a terrific vehicle. Think of how much less this is than a similarly equipped RX350.

Subaru B9 Tribeca price in Toronto by thecableguy

Folks,
I am Canadian.
I am shopping for a Subaru B9 Tribeca. Any canadians want to share their experience buying a Subaru B9. I read some posts which said that buyers in US can buy one B9 $2000 below invoice. Is it possible that we Canadians can get the similar discount or close a deal below invoice now? If so, can you provide any information.
Any suggestion are welcome.
BTW, I have the Carcostcanada reports in hand already.
Thx in advance.

Check out cars101.com. They have info on exporting Subaru from US to Canada. We got our 07 7-pas. LTD Tribeca w/ NAV for $2300 under invoice from Carlsen Subaru in Redwood City, CA. You may want to contact their internet sales department and other dealers' internet departments, too. Surely somebody will be able to help you. Good luck!

NEW TRIBECA WRECKED! by flgirlaol

You are going to think I'm insane...this is true. It's so terrible I'm just dying.
My huband picked up my new 07 LTD loaded Tribeca on Thursday night....he's driving it up to Atlanta today with my MIL to meet me there as I'm flying in from Colorado with the kids and one minute I'm chatting with him on Bluetooth and everything is going great and a few minutes later he calls me and he's freaked out that he's just tail-ended someone and it's wrecked.

I haven't even seen my car yet!

OK, they are both safe. Someone stopped short and he says that he slammed on the brakes and nothing happened. After 10 years of leasing cars with no wrecks...I finally BUY a car to keep like forever and 2 days later I have a wrecked car. He says it's bad and can't be driven. Last I heard he had it towed. He's in Georgia now.

I'm still in CO right now...flying out tomorrow. So down right now. My mom who was in the car made some comment on the phone to me like "geez, this car really doesn't have much of a bumper like your Navigator had" (my Nav has no bumper either).

I don't know how my car is going to be fixed so far from my home? And how long will body work take? I'll have to find out more when I speak to my husband later....when I feel more up to it. Still down about this.

So sorry. Quite a shame-
but glad to hear that everyone is OK. Far more important than the money and the inconvenience. Cars are incredibly replaceable items.

Bummer of a xmas present tho'.

Thanks so much Morey,

My husband is just devastated and thank God he is fine but he says the other day was the biggest nightmare because they were in some small town in Georgia stuck forever. Thank God he called our sales person back at Suburu in Ft Lauderdale who (after some shock) is arranging to get the car towed back to Florida to repair.

We are now in a rental and now in NC. It may be weeks before my car is repaired.

New car wrecked at X-mas....that's bad. Glad things are falling into place somewhat. At least you'll have a storey to tell for many years to come.

Glad you mentioned he used Bluetooth....driving an unfamiliar car is tricky and requires more attention...so if he had been fiddling with a cell phone I might have scolded him for it...but bluetooth should have eliminated that problem.

When I went to pick up my dad's new 07 Tribeca I came extremely close to hitting a deer on the way back with it...

At least you know it protected your husband. Read my storey about the guy driving a Tribeca who had a head-on accident with an Intrepid....Intrepid driver killed, Tribeca driver...broken leg.
