just put your specs into CarsDirect.com with the options you want, and it will give you a price. The price it will give you will be $1250 below invoice. You might be able to get the vehicle for less, but Invoice-$1250 was the going rate for the vehicle a couple months ago. With a few other options, it will be about $34.5K. Don't waste your time with any dealer that wants more than that. Be nice, but clear that you know what these cars are selling for. No reason to even step foot inside the dealership until they've agreed to sell you the car you want at a fair price.

I paid 34.8K, but he included a lot of options (puddle lights, wheel locks, auto dim mirror, mud flaps, etc...)and it was exactly what we wanted. Plus they gave us a great deal on our trade. After doing all the math, they gave us everything for invoice and then took the 1250 rebate off that price.

Finally got my Tribeca...

Well, not the one I ordered..that one is not in because the chrome wheels were out of stock. The dealer found my tribeca and put wheels and a LTD grill on mine and is selling this one to me.

OK here are my specs: Tribeca LTD 7 passenger DVD NAV
XM
Bumper Cover
Special Edition Package
Pop equp group
reverse assist sensors
puddle lights
remote engine starter

MSRP 41K

Best price $37,435

The financing at dealer says he cannot give me $1,250 rebate or whatever Suburu is giving because he is giving me the special 4.9% financing over 60 months. That is a drag. Did any of you know that you cannot use this in conjunction to the special financing? Do you think I can negotiate anything better than this?

With $9K down my payments will be $599 over 60 months. We have 6% tax here in FL

Thanks for any feedback!

As far as I know, there is currently no rebate offered on '07 Tribecas... just the special finance rates. At least that's the current deal in my region (NW) - probably the same in yours. If they are offering rebates in your region, it's very common to offer rebates OR low APR.

Invoice is about $2500 below MSRP, and they're offering you about $3500 below MSRP, so it's a good offer. Looks like yours is pretty much fully loaded! Nice.

Thanks Jeff,
I'm out of town (in CO) and my husband will be picking up the car tomorrow depending if I give the go ahead on the numbers. It just seems like everyone is paying so much less.
I don't know if I'm going to be paying out so much down. I am turning in a SUV with a lot of miles on a lease and may owe around 4K. I may raise my payments up to compensate.

I had the same problem before. 07 7-pass limited B9 Tribeca with DVD and NAV is being offered in one of the dealers in NJ at price of $36500. Tax, title, etc. are not included. I decided to stick with my budget and decided to get Highlander, unfortunately, they don't have the model that I want in stock. Last approach (as I needed the car very soon) was settling with Pilot.

Good luck to your purchase!

If you're willing to look at a year-old B9 Tribeca, you can pick up a loaded '06 7-pass Ltd for maybe $9k less than you're looking at now! That would really help you out turning around that negative equity. We looked at a 7-pass Ltd w/NAV, about 8k miles on the odometer, dealer offered $26.5k. Loaded up the way you want would probably be a couple thousand more. Just another option to keep in mind. There are plenty of "lightly used" '06s out there.

Thanks so much. I talked to the salesperson today and finalized some numbers. I really want the 07 and want many of the 07 features.
I think we're going to go with 6K down and finance 63 months at $629 a month.

Tomorrow my husband will be picking it up...and I also had Bluetooth installed. Now I need to change out my phone.

The '07 does have some nice upgrades over the '06. Wow - that's a whopper of a car payment. It'll definitely be good for you to not have the over-mileage charges from a lease this time, though. Ouch.

Thanks for all the inputs on the NAV. We decided to go with it since we like the backup camera feature. Nuvi 660 is certainly more capable (has bluetooth and nice to be able to carry / use in different car) but we think the backup camera is more important. OEM backup camera will make it more complicated. We prefer clean installation.

We got our 07 Diamond Grey 7-pas LTD Tribeca today!

Got it from Carlsen Subaru in Redwood City, CA. They were very professional and courteous. We've gotten online quotes from several dealers in the area and this one gave the best offer overall (we traded in our 97 Plymouth Gr. Voyager). The process was quite pleasant. We came in knowing the price of the Tribeca, but needed to negotiate the trade-in value. At the end, they were willing to meet us halfway over the difference.

The final price for the Tribeca was $31,750 + TTL (MSRP $36,561, invoice $34,116). It has navigation with all-weather floor mat, cargo tray, bumper cover, and auto-dimming mirror.

We almost bought it from Stevens Creek Subaru in San Jose yesterday. They offered $5K below MSRP (depending on options on the car, could mean as much as $2.5K below invoice - their profit margin on those options are high!). However when we came in to have them look at our minivan, the used car manager was unprofessional and rude, to the point of insulting. We understand that it might not be easy for them to sell an old minivan, but there are certainly nicer and better ways to say it. He was only going through the motion and told us that he would pay ZERO for the minivan (lowest KBB trade-in value is over $2,400!). The salesman that we've been working with just say, "Sorry, I can't help you. At the most, we can give you $500." To think that they were turning away a willing customer (we even brought our checkbook and title!) is simply mind boggling! Don't they know that this forum exists?

Anyway, thank you for all your help! This forum really helps us in getting a good deal on our new car. We'll sure enjoy our Tribeca!
