I am close to purchasing a 5 passenger Limited B9. The dealer has one in stock with a couple of things on it I don't want/need (trailer hitch, back up sensor) and is missing things I want...all of which he says he can add at the dealership. My question for now is...has anyone purchased through the COSTCO program? If so...how was the experience/process? Bob

Replying to: rfeaster (Oct 27, 2006 7:33 pm) If your dealer is honest with a good reputation your deal will go smoothly. You should be able to get a vehicle the way you want it - insist on it and be patient. When purchasing through programs the dealer is given a fixed profit - so it is in his best interest to sell from his inventory and do as little work as possible. They will also try to add to their profit by padding lease and loan payments, dealer installed options and add ons, and bogus fees. Costco has no control over this! You will have to negotiate your lease and loan payments. Question what you don't understand and if you feel pressured walk out. Try to have the car come from Subaru with all the factory options you want. I'm sure you already know most if not all of what I stated and I apologize for making this process sound awful but many people I know have been cheated (including me when I bought my first car). Hope I could help. Charlie |

Replying to: css1 (Oct 28, 2006 5:33 am) Thanks..that's helpful. What is the VIP program? Is that different than the Costco program? I have been able to find the MSRP and the invoice of the various options so I think I will have a handle on the cost of those. They are saying thta they can offer me the Subaru financing (interst rate) even after it ends on Oct. 31. How much over invoice did you pay using the Costco program? Bob
