You know, where the farmer hoarded them for twenty years because he was going to make a mint selling them to be turned into petroleum products? Instead... he dies, or goes bankrupt, and leaves a rodent and mosquito infestation mess that costs hundreds of thousands to clean up..

Then I realized that I'm seldom even around Tucson in the summer (I travel for work), so it shouldn't be too much of an issue. If it is, I'll post next summer and whine to ya'll. Especially to Karen in Phoenix who posted a long time ago that the AC was fine. Between the paperwork, money transfer and shipping, it will be another week or so before I get to take delivery. Can't wait! Short of buying a house, buying a new car is a pretty exciting purchase. One that I don't do too often. I'm also just amazed at how there was no need to negotiate the price. And by buying from a distance- no need to run the gauntlet at the dealership on extended warranties and overpriced paint protection. There is some FedEx'ing required tho'. |

I just placed an order today for the B9 7 passenger Ltd loaded w/Nav/Dvd and anything else I could add on. It's going to be black with tan interior. My delivery will be in December. The dealer is going to add Bluetooth for me as well. Am very excited and this will be perfect timing for when we start driving up those icy mountains in NC!!!!

I am close to purchasing a 5 passenger Limited B9. The dealer has one in stock with a couple of things on it I don't want/need (trailer hitch, back up sensor) and is missing things I want...all of which he says he can add at the dealership. My question for now is...has anyone purchased through the COSTCO program? If so...how was the experience/process? Bob

Replying to: rfeaster (Oct 27, 2006 7:33 pm) If your dealer is honest with a good reputation your deal will go smoothly. You should be able to get a vehicle the way you want it - insist on it and be patient. When purchasing through programs the dealer is given a fixed profit - so it is in his best interest to sell from his inventory and do as little work as possible. They will also try to add to their profit by padding lease and loan payments, dealer installed options and add ons, and bogus fees. Costco has no control over this! You will have to negotiate your lease and loan payments. Question what you don't understand and if you feel pressured walk out. Try to have the car come from Subaru with all the factory options you want. I'm sure you already know most if not all of what I stated and I apologize for making this process sound awful but many people I know have been cheated (including me when I bought my first car). Hope I could help. Charlie |
