| where dealers I should go in Sacramento/Livermore/Vacaville area for the best deal? | |
| I just picked up my 2007 5 pass Limited with Puddle lights, wheel locks, all weather mats, retractable rear cover, rear bumper cover and day/night rear mirror for $30807 including delivery and their rip-off doc fee. Just tax and title added for a grand total of $32700. I did the entire deal over the net and the phone. Picked up the car with no hassles or added pressure. And so far after about 650 miles, I am enjoying a great car | |

Looking at a 2007 7 pass SE LTD with NAV and DVD. Received a quote of $36,500. The adds total about $2,200 (invoice not MSRP). If the invoice on the 7 pas LTD is $35,492 looks like with the adds the total invoice would be $37,700. I thought it looked like a good price and other dealers wouldn't match. But, I had heard that the invoice might have been reduced b/c of gas prices or something silly like that. Any thoughts on price? |

I haven't heard of any change to the invoice price... if anything, Subaru would offer an additional incentive to the dealer rather than change the actual invoice price, I would think. Also, no rebates offered on '07 Tribecas yet, at least in my region.

I've heard/seen discussion about making a deal almost exclusively over the internet. How can I find a dealer who does that? Bob

As best I can understand it, CarsDirect makes pre-arranged pricing deals with dealers, and then takes a percentage on top of that. So- my plan (a month from now when I buy my 'beca) is to essentially threaten (in a nice way) my local dealer that I'll go through CarsDirect- or let them give me the CarsDirect price directly- and then they won't need to pay the commission to CarsDirect. We'll see how this works in a month or so.
