| I just leased a Limited 7 passenger (fairly loaded but no DVD or Nav) for 36 months/36,000 miles. $2900 down and that includes licenses, fees, and first month payment. I have 35 payments remaining of $335/month. I got the vehicle from Mastro Subaru in Tampa. Best buying experience in over 30 years of buying/leasing new cars. | |

Replying to: b9bingo (Jan 11, 2006 10:04 am) It has 7K miles and the salesman said he didn't know why they did it but they traded in on a hybrid Escape??? They want 28,995 and he indicated they might go a little lower. I had not intention of buying being perfectly happy with my Forester, but according to what I see online it looks like the invoice is in the 33K ball park on this... Any input? |

A quick search of a major used car website found two base 7-pass models with about 8k miles for $26,995 asking price at a Subaru dealership in New York state, so that shows you $27k is certainly reasonable to shoot for. You could also probably find a 5-pass Limited model for the same price, which would have leather, 160W AM/FM/CD changer with subwoofer/amp and 8 speakers, though the 7-pass has 2nd-row A/C controls and rear headliner vents the 5-pass doesn't. Do you want the extra row & more A/C, or leather & upgraded sound?

They tack on their own fee above and beyond SOA's, raising the dealer's invoice. Either way, the couple hundred bucks difference wouldn't be enough to spoil a good deal on a used vehicle. |

The experience could not have gone better thanks to the up front research from these Forums. Here's the skinny: 7 Seat LTD Tribeca - Champagne Beige (No Nav, No DVD) Puddle Lights Compass Mirror Aero Crossbar Splash guards Wheel Locks Weather Mats Luggage Cover MSRP: $35,569 After looking at Carsdirect.com and Edmunds.com, came up with a target price of $31,900. After looking at NADA and KBB, came up with $8K for my '99 Passat to trade. Bottom line after the salesman made 3 trips to the manager: They agreed to go invoice ($32,885 per the sheet they showed me), then I said take off the $1,000 dealer rebate you're getting from Subaru, and it became $31,855. They accepted. SCORE! Their first offer for my trade was $5500, but I held firm and got $7800. I figured the $200 Subaru Bucks I gave them made up for the $200 short of my target price on the trade. The sales guy and F&I guy will get all the best marks when I get my survey from Subaru. Went with 48 mo. at 3.9% as the 24 mo. 0 interest was a bit steep on the payment. Whoo hoo! Thanks for all the valuable info on these forums - priceless.

Replying to: newtosubie (Mar 10, 2006 2:09 pm) Congrats on your new Tribeca. Please tell me where did you learn of $1,000 dealer rebate? Is it regional? I'm in NYC and considering leasing the Tribeca - 7-pass LTD with DVD and several other options. Don't know if this rebate exists here. If it does, don't know if it's already included in their current $299 lease offer or wether it can be applied to a lease. If anyone knows, please chime in. Best regards, O.Bender
