| I have never reset my "B" trip odometer on my new 05 Legacy Ltd auto wagon. The trip computer at 10,000 miles yesterday showed 23.7. I am now up to 23 on most city tanks of gas and 30 on all highway tanks. Driving has been mostly city with about 5 trips to Louisville, one to Indy and 2 to Nashville so far. But with the increase in city mileage I expect overall to go up. I am going to Colorado in 3 weeks and I am going to reset "B" for the whole trip and use "A" to check tank to tank mileage. Like most others I found my first few tanks to be about .8 to 1 mpg less than the computer when I calculted it myself. | |

Commuting (7 miles each way) in stop & go: 18-19 mpg Mixed weekend city (10+ mile trips in flowing traffic)/commuting: 21 mpg Interstate 75-85 mph on average: 25-26 mpg, with bike on the hittch rack: 24-25 mpg. So little below EPA, but not that much. My fuel tank seems to be smaller than 15.8 gallons, as posted in the manual (looks more like 15 gal tops). |

What would really make this sort of information valuable is some summary table showing the range of milage per model and driving type. Ken |
|
| About 18 to 20 mpg. A little better if I stay off boost. | |
|
Let's get enough sample data first, Ken, but that is a great idea. Maybe I'll do a chart and categorize by model, engine type, and transmission type. But we need at least a few of each type to make the sample significant. So please, if you post, include the name and model, year, trans type, and maybe even body style. For example: 2002 Legacy L, 5 speed manual, wagon Keep the data coming, folks. -juice |
