I looked at A3s for at least 2 months before I bought one. I found that if you go to the regional marketing web sites (San Diego Audi Dealers, Los Angeles Audi Dealers, etc.) and enter exactly what you are looking for, their Internet Sales people will contact you with the best deals. For whatever reason, these people offered their best deals up front - unlike visiting the showrooms where the standard back and forth took place. The deal I made was this: 2007 A3 3.2, Light Silver, Tech Pkg, Sirius, Premium Gray Leather, and 18" wheels - sticker of $38,500 and I bought it for $35,500 which I think was $500 over invoice. This was in Sept 06 so the 07 model hadn't been out very long. I'm sure there may have been better deals, but there were only three 3.2s in the entire state of California at the time and this may have been the only 1 that didn't have Open Sky. Considering that, I was happy with the deal. That was 6 months and 10,000 miles ago. The car has been an absolute joy to drive and own since then - not even a hiccup. Hope I'm not jinxing myself by saying that.

Hi, I am looking to buy a 2007 A3 2.0t DSG Premium. Dealer is insisting that the invoice price on edmunds and other sites is incorrect because there is a $495 dealer prep and advertising fee that all dealers in the Boston area charge. I can find nothing on this fee, and I'm guessing the dealer is just trying to add more profit to the deal. Though the sales person I am talking with has offered to show me the invoice for "every A3 in stock" in order to prove to me that the fee is valid. Also, dealer is charging about $385 for registration & doc fees, which I also think is high? |

so said Consumers Union for 2007, which is a complement to Audi given most of their cars are below average (as are nearly all VW's). Hopefully Audi can get even better.
