Does anyone know the pricing deal employees of Toyota/Lexus corporate get? Not the dealer/distributor employees, but the managers who work for the HQ or manufacturing locations. I have a connection with someone who works in the corporate marketing department, but we're not very close, and before I go out on a limb and ask them to help me with an employee buy, I'd like to know how good a deal they get. I know my local distributor offers their staff $1,500 over 'landed cost', which isn't a great deal or anything a hard negotiator couldn't swing themselves. I'd hope the HQ employees get something better.

One of their engineers lives in my neighborhood, but I think they've only bought one new Toyota in the last 10 years.. Either they are frugal (likely), or the employee deal is not that impressive. I'm not sure how a "not very close" acquaintance would be able to help you, though? I don't think a Toyota employee would risk his job to get a car for someone that wasn't eligible, otherwise. regards, kyfdx

I do remember it was one per year, but he used his allotment and couldn't do anything for me. It's the details I'm after - something like x% under invoice, I would jump at - but something like x% or x$ over invoice, it's probably not worth it. |

After much haggling we settled on a total purchase price of 23,896 for a 24month/15,000mi lease of a Lexus 400 hybrid. Did we get a good deal? We paid cash upfront, no financing. That comes out to approx. $1,000/mo for the car. The sticker price was 51k with the navigation system, lots of extras, and a 295 scratch/ding guarantee. We turned in our 1999 Volvo S80 T6 for only $2500, however it needed 4k in repairs and had a dent in the side. Finally, we were offered 29k towards a new car when the lease is up, we know that is subject to change and bargaining. This is our first time leasing a vehichle as we want to see what other types of new hybrids come out in the next few years. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
