What are the differences between the foxbody 5.0 GT and 5.0 LX hatchbacks, or are there any?

In the last few years (91-93), the ONLY differences were cosmetic. Same engine/drivetrain, wheels, and suspension. The GT may have had a higher-performance rear-gear (3.35:1) available as a factory option. Due to cosmetic differences (body cladding on the GT), the LX's were lighter.

You could get the higher performance rear-gear ratios on the LX too. I had a 1991 LX 5.0L 5sp coupe with the optional 3.08 rear gear (The fastest version of a Mustang you could buy from Ford in 1991). The LX 5.0L coupe was the lightest weight 5.0L, around 2800 lbs. Supposedly, the coupes outhandled the hatchbacks because the structure was stiffer in the back.

Lots of people don't like the way the coupes looked, but they are the highest performance/best bang for your buck as far as foxbodies are concerned.
