Replying to: andys120 (Jun 30, 2009 2:54 pm) I don't really understand it, but I've got a weakness for those 59 Chevy's - always liked them for whatever reasons. Most people seemed to prefer the 60, but I think GM went overboard the other way in restraining the 60's vice the 59's in their lineup, they just didn't generate the same newness and excitement - kind of like the 59 Mopars versus the 57/58's. Replying to: berri (Jun 30, 2009 7:55 pm) I like the body (either one) way more than the more iconic '57s. But I had a poor clutch learning experience on a friend's '57. And I sunk it up to the axles on a soft shoulder one time too. But the '59 we had would barely go 60 downhill with the wind.   Thanks for the info/pics Andy and Imidazol97 - I've not been able to find any old family photos of our old cars, except the one Buick wagon from the early 60's.

Very close... it's a 1961 Mercury Comet. '62's had different tail lights - little round ones sort of like an Impala.

I apologize for posting pictures that were too wide in my previous post. The max width must be about 650 pixels or 640 pixels. I forgot to adjust width on old pictures from my photobucket account before posting.   As for the Chevies, I like the 59 over the 60 because the 59 is RED and a convertible.
