Replying to: rsholland (Jul 24, 2005 6:46 am) The real MG collectors and drivers (and MG people DO drive their cars, they are not trailer queen people) love the TC, as it is the "classic" design that harkens back to the prewar cars. They HATE the TD, even though the average passerby might say "gee, what's the problem?". The TD is very stodgey, the wheels especially just kill the car visually. The TF however, is also popular with MG people, even the TC and prewar nuts. For some reason, the TF gets excused, probably because the body, having been changed, works better with the small wheels. The MG folks love the MGA and MGB, but there is a definite dividing line in 1975, when the "rubber bumper" MGs came out. MG Magnettes (sedans) and YB roadsters (4-seat roadsters from the late 40s early 50s) are not very popular. The most despised MGs are the TDs with Volvo engines in them, an oddly common thing one still sees being done now and then.
