Replying to: fintail (Jul 16, 2005 8:13 am) This was perhaps the last time a Ferrari Spider was sold with standard bodywork different from it's coupe counterpart. The 275GTS was mechanically identical to the GTB, including the rear transaxle although the engine was slightly detuned to 260HP. In 1967 10 275GTB/4 N.A.R.T. Spyders were built at the request of Ferrari importer Liugi Chinetti which looked like GTB/4 coupes with the tops cut off although they were built as Spiders presumably by Scaglietti. AFAIK they all used the 300hp DOHC V12. Thus Chinetti inadvertantly converted Ferrari to making Spiders based on the coupe body which has been the case for the last 38 years. "Jeep Thing"- it's badged as a Willys Sportwagon, that one's a '62 with some modern wheels on it. |
