The 1962 does not have Galaxy
written on the side of the headlight fairing. In 1961 they did IF they had the little ornament on top of the fender. The station wagon in the picture has something written on the side of the headlight so that indicates it's a 61.

I don't recall seeing a Ford in that pink color of the 62 in this picture. Mary Kay?

It's a 62 Ford Galaxie 500/XL. The emblem behind the front wheel has two checker flags with "405" between them. This car had 405 horsepower!

Whoa, down boy... That particular car is a 390 rated at 300HP in A/T form. There was no "405" fender flash, the badge actually read "406" even though the actual displacement was 405.1 and the rated Horsepower was indeed 405 for engines equipped with three 2 barrel carbs, the more common 4v versions were rated at 385hp. HP ratings published by mfr's in those days tended to be rather generous.

One more thing, the crossed checkered flags were used on Chevy's engine badges but Ford used a Thunderbird motif for their performance engines except on Falcons and Mustangs.

Here's the ad stating that the car is a 390, painted in factory Sand Shell Beige.

Isn't that a Nissan Bakkie?

You are correct. It is a 390. The picture I have of the side of a 62 is small and I read the number on the eagle between the two checkered flags as 405 rather than 406.
I am well familiar with the crossed checkered flags used by Chevy. The checkered flags on the 62 Galaxie are on each side of the eagle's head with the "390", or "406" on the eagle.
I enjoy all of your posted pictures. Good work.

They probably gave some exotic name to that color, like "bleached salmon" or something. Well, okay, "Sand Shell Beige" does sound a bit more marketable!

IIRC, the car that we got as the B210 was the Sunny back home, and that lineage eventually became the Sentra here.

Here, the 1200 size car was the Sunny, and the Cherry was smaller, more like a MIni/Fiesta at first, although subsequent generations were a bit bigger.

TVR was incredibly prolific producing many different models during the 70's thru the early 00's. I can't keep them straight.

WAG- TVR Tasmin?

Pretty sure that's a Gen IV VW Golf behind it.

The TVR is a Tasmin...I'm going to guess it's a 280i (Ford 2.8L V6) as opposed to a 350i (Rover 3.5L V8).
