Replying to: schaecher (Jan 16, 2006 7:53 pm) Real mileage without a chip, around Charlotte, some country driving, 18-19. Interstate, 70+ 19.5 -20. The super chip around town 21, interstate 23.9-24.9. I used the percormance towing program which added around 55 HP and gave the best range. I a well pleased with the results. Just came back from Charleston and averaged 24.2. Mileage is a little better if their is a little rain.

Replying to: lpreville (Sep 12, 2005 3:55 pm) Just got my '06 Ford F350 w/6.0 back from the dealer for the 3rd time for "Poor Fuel Economy", and they have no answers....AGAIN! I get 10-11mpg Empty.   An engineer from Ford actually came out and performed the diagnostics, and said "Nothing Is Wrong." He also told me, "Ford does not post mileage on their Super Duty Trucks, and therefore does not warranty the fuel mileage. He went on to tell me that even though the mileage is at the lower end of the scale, he feels it is within Ford's specification.   This is my 5th Powerstroke, so I know how they supposed to perform. With a shortbox, and a 28 gallon fuel tank, I get about 250 miles and have to look for a fuel station.   The Ford dealer told me they would trade me out of it for $10,000 to boot, and the truck is only 6 months old! I'm frustrated enough to trade this one off for a Dodge or Chevy.   My old Poewerstrokes 6.0 and 7.3 consistantly got 15-16mpg empty and 12-13mpg pulling horse trailers and a 10,000lb 5th wheel.   Who else is having this problem?   Any solutions????   Thanks!   TJ Replies to this message: yrbender (Jan 23, 2006 3:35 pm)

They said I have to take it in so they can hook it up and reconfigure it my gas mileage sucks now 12-13 empty city hopefully this will improve maybe your truck is on this recall too

Replying to: akseagirl (Jan 23, 2006 3:08 pm) YES, I still love my Dodge Diesel. After adding the Quad.chip and boosting HP to almost 400HP, it is like driving a high performance sports car. My gas mileage has remained 2 to 4 MPG above stock. However, after driving a 2001 standard 6 speed the other night, I am wondering if I was towing up and down hills if I would not consider a standard transmission next time. I was extremely impressed by the 6 speed transmission! I was pulling a 32 foot goose next and I never even knew it was behind me. So, I guess my recommendation (even though I love my auto) you may consider a standard transmission for towing up and down mountains.

I average 12-14mpg, when I'm towing on hwy, I got 10-12 at 72mph. I can eke out a little better when I drive like Grandma, and keep the cruise on 55. 17 is the best I've ever done. My truck has 45,000 miles on it, larger tires, and I keep the fuel filter changed religiously. I put a Bullydog on it and while it absolutely smoked, my leadfoot didn't help the economy ...it actually went down! So I didn't buy the bullydog. Should I try another chip? What can I do? I love everything else about my truck...surely there's something I can do. The dealer says nothing's wrong, but admits it should do better. Thanks for any advice... I have been told by several reliable sources that this will increase your mileage by 2 to 3 MPG. I have recieved better mileage with my Quadzilla vs. factory (2-4MPG better, if you can keep your foot out of it). I actually stated 5 to 6 MPG better in my first post about my Quadzilla. What I found was that the chip interferes with the digital mileage meter. Once I actually put it on paper it was around 2MPG pulling trailers. It definetly seems to help my MPG.
