That sounds great but by the time this vehicle itself has been recycled into fuel? This started as a question as to why people were looking for Bio with the Tiguan.

Don't understand your question... We're just disputing your assertion that 'bio is a joke' A lot of us are waiting for the diesel Tiguan because there isn't a compact diesel SUV available (other than discontinued Jeep Liberty CRD) so we can run an alternative fuel, save the planet, get off oil, etc...and haul the family around comfortably. I for one will not buy another gasoline vehicle unless it's a hybrid with outstanding gas mileage... Would really like a diesel/hybrid electric.

What I wanna' know is how come a 269hp, 6cyl 3.5L, larger and slightly heavier RAV-4, gets better fuel economy than the smaller 200hp 2.0T engined Tiguan?
18/24 for the Tiguan- gulping PUG.
19/29 for RAV4. Sipping RUG no less.
heck, even the heavier and much larger Murano, with a much more powerful and larger engine is rated at 18/23.
I would have thought that a modern, small SUV like the Tiguan- using a new 2.0L 4 cyl Turbo would be getting better mileage.
I guess this mpg thing isn't an easy problem to solve.

This car is over priced, and gets lousy FE. I don't expect sales to be so well. The Mazda CX-7 Sport AWD is just under $27K. The Tiguan SE AWD is $30,475 and has 44 less hp and 50 less lb-ft of tq.
People are saying "yes, for $23K, we would buy one!'. Thats a stick shift FWD strippy Tiguan. While the Tiguan has a nice interior and a nice ride, VW gives you nothing for your money. Bad time for VW to come out with this car.

I would call "Free" maintence a good thing.
the only question is, how good are they now about handling a "Lemon" problem?
after the 3rd time unsatisfactory repair job there is a replacement ...etc.
I have the florida lemon law book.
Are they going to bitchy about it?

One reason for me is 1/3 farther, Longer lifespan, and last but not least I've known how to make my own for some time now. When push comes to shove down here OR elsewhere...hurricanes, end of oil senarios, it's not that difficult to get "consistenct" quality homemade biodiesel.....and commercial is NOT consistent.

Meanwhile, strides are beaning made on the use of the quick growing alge for biodiesel. This topic should not hint at being the end all of solutions. We need all options on the table. My highest hope is for a Hybrid /diesel combo that gets 100 mpg. in modest sizes. europe has them.

Lemon problems would be handled the same as they are now since they are a warranty problem. Not sure I understand the question. My dealer is really good, but others aren't. Hopefully yours is.
