| Any one who is worried that the mazda sp 23 was a limited production car and will no longer be able to buy, don't be. The 2006 mazda 3 will be offered with many of the same features such as the sp 23 such as, sport package, xenons, heated seats, leather, bose stereo, ect......the only differences is that the dark gray color and that saddle brown seats may not be offered. Colors i personaly never liked too much anyways. But thats subjective. | |
I resently tried both cars and there was no comparison. The Jetta is by far the better car - ride, handling, quiteness, features. The materials used are of exceptional quality, fenomenal tiptronic transmition, huge trunk and one touch automatic up and down windows. Let's not forget heated seats. The Mazda3 is a compact car while the new Jetta feels more like midsize. This along with endless list of available features makes it more of a competitor to Mazda 6.I tried Mazda 6 as well and I leaned towards the Jetta again because even though the Mazda 6 is a little larger(same engine as Mazda 3) is still inferior to Jetta in terms of upscale feel, quality and braking. The stability control does wonders and sport mode on highways is unique.Therfore the new Jetta is a clear choice.

Why are you claiming the brakes are a problem in the Mazda6? Ride and handling seemed pretty comparable to me. I'd not be getting heated seats in any case, as I prefer cloth. The one touch windows and automatic door locks (what is with the Japanese cars requiring one to press the unloock button to open the driver's door The Mazda6 is also available in a nice looking hatchback...which I might consider. Don't care for the look of the Rabbit (Jetta hatchback) at all. The nicest looking Jetta to me is the GLI, but I do not want to spend that much. If they made the exterior of the base Jetta look like the GLI, I would give it much more consideration. If the Jetta looked like the Mazda6 and visa-versa then I think the Jetta would be the clear choice for me also. |

I'm in the market for a used vehicle and leaning heavily towards a Protege, but I would also consider a Mazda3. I'd really like to know how these two compare. If the 3 is a significant upgrade, maybe I'll go that route.
