Replying to: seloo (Oct 27, 2008 4:35 pm) EB $15.3 - $16.3 Limited $16.4 The prices are falling weekly. We are very near or at 1/2 off of MSRP. I had a recent conversation with a person that is part of the car market. Sales in her area (South) are down as much a 75% for some dealers. She stated that prices will continue to fall in the next few months. Time on our your side!

Replying to: bmmiller (Nov 02, 2008 8:30 pm) Please go back and read previous posts so you can get a full understanding of both the new and used car market for this car. As a new car the TX is not a good value!!! But, I am not saying it is a bad car. Ford sales numbers will be released today. New Ford incentives should be out tomorrow. There are thousands of new 08s still on the lots. The 09s are ready for delivery. Additionally, the wholesale value of the slightly used 08s is nearly 50% of the MRSP. Other crossovers in this market are selling for $10K off MRSP, to date Ford dealers have not been willing (due to low incentives from the factory) to drop the price that low. It will be interesting to see November's customer incentives and the factory to dealer cash.

I have a friend who works for Ford and is turning in his 2008 TX Ltd with 9000 miles this week. He told me the price on it would be 22k. I know it has SYNC and a DVD player but am not sure about other options. Seems a little high to me. Any thoughts on that price? Is that price negotiable? Would there be any incentives that would bring that price down? Thanks.

Sales for this car are DOA. It will take huge incentives to move the excess new 08 TXs still on the dealer's lots. It may take $10-12K off MSRP to make this car a decent value.

Replying to: seloo (Nov 03, 2008 4:49 pm) The key is to find out what the factory to dealer incentives are for this car. Unless we are talking at least $10K plus off MSRP, this car is a poor value. Do not be in a hurry to buy this car!!!
