I got 8K off my 2005 which stickered at 33k. But I bought in Feb of 2006, thus more pressure to move it. I would have thought you would get a bit more off on yours as the model is being changed this year, etc.

The 2005 Limited and the 2007 limited are very different, have significantly improved the "luxury" and the list of features which go with that model. I tested each model year, and the ONLY one that caught our interest was 2007 Limited.

We did not find that glare was a problem- interior was tan and time of day was 11 am - 3pm for all road tests. Has anyone had a EXCELLENT buying experience from Ford dealers in the Charlotte area OR the Wash Metro area?

Thanks

"The 2005 Limited and the 2007 limited are very different, have significantly improved the "luxury" and the list of features which go with that model. "

And how do you come to that conclusion with any rational insight.

The '07 has sat/nav center, mine doesn't and I wouldn't pay $2k+ for it anyway. I have everything you do short of the entertainment center, sat/nav and AWD. Other than that they are indeed the same with a few minor running changes. This does not amount to "significantly improved the "luxury"". They just changed the menu by which you pick/buy you options...

I bought my 05 AWD Limited from Martin Family Ford in Morganton, NC and had a a very good buying experience. Very honest, straight forward and no pressure.

Thanks for the dealer info. I was contacted by Keeter Ford in Shelby, NC and went over to test drive a Freestar SEL AWD.

We were impressed by the car and by the dealer. I could not be happier with this agency, friendly, NO pressure, and go out of their way to make this a nice buying experience. We eventually settled on the Freestyle Limited.

Also noted was the improved noise reduction from 2005 test car and this 2007. Engine and tire noise is now barely noticeable. We really liked the smooth transmission and lack of gear shifting.

The dealer located a car that matched my "list" of features, and went and took it for a test drive. Mar 26, I pick up the car. It has every option possible; except Sat radio which evidently is NOT available when the DVD syatem is ordered.

Furthermore, the dealer aggressively priced the car so I am buying it way below the MSRP. (About $5500 below sticker). Cant beat those numbers!

I DID notice the dash glare, very evident in the light colored Pebble finish and ordered a custom made dash cover which should eliminate the problem. The Limited only has 2 interior colors- Pebble or Black. The SEL has Taupe/Gray.

Thanks all who got back to me and offered advice, etc. I'll re-post once I actually take possesion of the car.

I picked up the car- what a pleasant experience in both the purchasing and the driving. Very solid feel, hardly any road noise on any type of pavement and at highway or local speeds. I love the transmission and there is more than adequate power for any situation. Engine noise is minimal.

I was pleasantly surprised by the handling and gas mileage of the car; my local mpg is 19 and highway is 24. I am looking forward to taking this on my next trip. The glare was cured by wearing polarized sunglasses!

Just bought the car new off the dealer lot. SEL with moonroof, power and convenience packages, leather, traction control, DVD player (which we didn't necessarily want but compromised), 6 passenger seating. Only missing heated seats but at $26,300 out the door was significantly better deal than other offers from various dealers.

Limited AWD, Road experiences, past 3 weeks and 2200 mile later.

I went 800 miles North to NW corner of massachusetts, 10 below zero, wind gusts 30+ mph, 10-12 inches of snow and ice. The car was awesome. Traction and stability topnotch. Trip up avg 26mpg, trip return avg 25 mpg, total 1700 miles. 80% of miles interstate, remainder 2 lane winding and steep mountain roads. Very quiet on concrete surfaces, etc.

Heated seats were welcome in the morning hours, car started perfectly, and transmission was excellent. Navigation was excellent and easy to use, audio system was also excellent. Interior fogging was minimal, split system back/front was perfect for back seat passengers. Lighting and 12 volt outlets were well placed for back seat passengers.

One special note- The fold down seats are terrific, excellent utility and design. I carry a dog crate which fits perfectly with last row -split folded down. Tons of luggage space remains. What a car!

Now back in Charlotte, avg in-town is 22.6! Amazing car and full of wonderful surprises.

Keeter Motors must be leading a charmed life if this is normal for their cars.

just curious, what was the MSRP? We are looking at the Freestyles and I am trying to get a gauge on the current discounts. I take it this price included the 2500 rebate or did you go for the financing special?

Ironically, the DVD is something my wife has on her "needs" list (3 kids 10 & under)

Thanks

Peeter
