Would anyone know where I could find performance parts for the new ss, like exhaust, mainly engine management?

#17 of 22 Looking to modify a 2008 Toyota Solara by innapropriatus

I ordered the car with catback exhaust, TRD lowering springs, strut brace and rims. I am looking for info on slotted brakes and an intake. I would also like to find an upper and lower set of billet grilles for it as well...
Any tips?

What kind of road racing are you doing that you need slotted brakes? Didn't know anyone campaigned a Solara in racing events.

Seriously though, slotted rotors are not at all needed unless you are at a decent level of racing.

I have seen slotted brakes on a lot of cars, not just the road racers. With the ten spoke rims I want to put something that looks good behind the wheel. But most important, I want the stopping power of slotted brakes...makes the car that much more safe to drive.
Any suggestions?
Also, what do I need to know about the wear issue on pads...I assume that slotted rotors wear down pads quicker?

Ah the bling factor.

Well in that case go for drilled and slotted. Slotted rotors provide zero extra braking when used in a non-race situation. For bling factor they are great for the street, but do not kid yourself into thinking they actually will help on the street.

As for wear, they will grind down your pads quicker and cannot be resurfaced, which are both downsides to using them on the street.

Thanks for the tip. You seem to know a bit...so as far as the bling factor goes, what would you recommend?
Also...I am looking for a billet grille for my 08, but no one seems to have one. I have checked all the most obvious places...any recommendations? I am looking for an upper and lower set like Trenz offers.
PS...I have an image of what I want, but I do not know how to post it here.
