I am considering buying used 2008 explorer ltd. Vehicle has 18" tires and do not know how they will do in snow compared to 17" tires. Can anyone give me any info on this. Jack

| I have a 2007 Mountaineer and it's about ready for new tires. It came with Michelin Cross Terrains and they have been a great tire. I have been told by Michelin that they are being phased out and replaced by the Michelin Latitude Tour. However, you cannot get the Tour in the 235-65-18 size. It is available in the 245-60-18 size which is extremely close in overall dimensions to the 235's and is in fact almost exactly the same overall dimensions as the standard size (18's are optional) 245-65-17's that come on Mountaineer's and Explorer's. Was just wondering if anyone else has opted for the 245-60-18's and if so how do they like them. I have heard very good things about the Latitude Tour but was just wondering if there was a specific reason it didn't come in the optional Explorer and Mountaineer sizes. | |
