When I looked into converting my Chevy Truck to LNG or CNG it cost about 1/2 the price of unleaded per mile, around 1993. As soon as CNG vehicles started becoming popular they upped the price of CNG to equal regular unleaded. That is according to a fellow that owns several CNG taxi cabs. |

If there is only 1 CNG station in that city, naturally he will do. Some competition is needed. That is why CNG vehicles should also have Gasoline / Diesel as secondary source. |

Has anyone converted a 4WD Sequoia to run on LPG, if so where did you put the tank(s) for the LPG? I am planning on importing a 2006 Limited model to the UK but with the price of Gas here will need to convert it to LPG. Landcruisers no problem but Sequoia not a model availible here so need the info in advance before payimng the money |

does any manufacturer make Propane cars in the United States? Is there any big difference between it and CNG? |

| I have a friend who researched getting his pickup converted into running on propane. They do the conversions regularly in Mexico. Just go to one of the propane stations and they will do the coversion for somewhere between $500 and $700 US. I went with him to one place and the descriped the conversion. It seemed pretty simple and there was a switch inside the cabin to go back and forth between gasoline and LPG. It's fairly commonly used in Mexico for big trucks. The trucks that drive around neighborhoods delivering water use propane. My friend never actually got around to doing it, so I can't report how it turned out. | |
