Friend of mine wants to sell his 2004 Audi S4. It's been gently/barely driven for the last several years and parked in a heated garage 24/7. Specs: '04 S4 with 28K miles ( silver color, manual transmission, bose, nav, seat warmers etc). Asking price is $14,000. This is a good friend of mine and I know this car well, driven it several times, no known problems except for some light scratches on the bumpers). Is this a good price or should I be wasting my time shopping around dealerships? Basically in the market for a used sport compact. |

I just completed a buyer's agreement with my local dealership for the 2nd 2010 S4 they will receive and wanted to get everyone's opinion. The pricing and order guide are not yet available, so here's what we agreed on: 2nd allocated 2010 S4 to arrive ~September 2009 I can configure the car however I choose when the order guide becomes availble I will pay 3% above dealer invoice as well as the $399 "dealer service" fee, tax, tag, title Audi Care will be included in the above price Has anyone else committed to a 2010 S4? What was your experience?

Replying to: s4ce (Apr 02, 2009 12:56 pm) 3% above invoice means that you'll be paying roughly $1500 above invoice. I looked at last years S4 and it seems that on average people were paying $1000 above invoice. Considering this is a new model and a pre-order, sounds like you got a pretty good deal. How much haggling did you have to do to get this? Any other details because I think I'm going to call up my dealership and try to get this deal too. Was just wondering if you had any other advice. Also did they mention how they were going to price options? Thanks.

Replying to: tarheel8 (Jun 24, 2009 6:02 am) This took lots of haggling despite a longstanding relationship with (and many cars purchased from) my dealer. My only advice is that in this market you shouldn't take no for an answer. Be prepared to walk, and do so when you don't get what you want. There are plenty of Audi dealers thirsty for your business and they get S4s too! Unfortunately, no mention of price yet. My car is already being built in the factory and still anybody's guess about how much it will cost. Good luck with your order! |

| Now that the retail costs are out, has anyone seen invoice pricing? The cars are starting to show up, but I can't find this info anywhere! | |

If anyone knows a site that has invoice pricing, I would love to know. I test drove a S4 yesterday and it is the first car that has made me think twice about the bmw 335i (with sport/nav/prem). Thanks |

| I am considering purchasing a 2004 Audi S4. I live in Boston and the car is in New York City. A few things I am a little weary of and wondering what to look out for or look in to. The car has 105K on it, and they are asking 13K for it. Now I went and test drove the car and it drove great, very smooth and felt solid. However, I smelled some oil. When I turned the car on again, the oil pressure light and the coolant light both came on. I asked the salesman what was the story and he assured me the engine was in excellent condition. He said he would have the oil changed and the leak? looked at. Now I searched the dealership for reviews on google and I got back just three, all bad ones too. Two didn't really apply as the dealt with financing issues, which I will not be dealing with, the other mentioned something about the dealership saying that they work on your car, but really just clearing the computer so that the problems is masked and not fixed. Is there any possibility that you could clear the computer and the car would not pick up on the problem right away? Love the S4 but not sold on it with the issue? Any suggestions are appreciated- | |
