Headlight Problems on my R350 by vics

All the roads in my part of Mass. are two lane, twisty and crowded so I have to drive at night with my low beams only. The low beam on my R only shines out about 25-30 ft which isn't sufficient lighting for the 35-40 mph limit. I asked the dealer to raise the low beams and they say that they are not adjustable. There is no adjustment possible.
I can't imaging a $50,000 car with no headlight adjustment. My $25,000 Subaru has adjustments, why can't M-B do it??

the stock low beams are pretty bad particularly if you are used to HIDs. I would have gotten the lighting package on my 500 if i could have one with that option - i bought at the tail end of the '06s in order to save $17,000. So, following the lead of others on the benz enthusiast boards, i bought philips aftermarket bulbs (crystalvision or xtreme) for $30 pair. They give a much brighter, whiter light. I bought them for my odyssey 2 days later. they really improve the amount of light and the color.

Garage door opener by wopel

I am having trouble with my garage door opener. I have "programed" the car with the old opener, but it only works when I'm in the garage, not when I'm coming home and trying to get in to the garage. The MB service people tell me to move the antenna to the chasis of the opener on the ceiling. The antenna needs to stay with the transmitter. Any thoughts?
Also, my rear view driver's mirror seems distorted. Is this "normal"?
Thanks

I have LOOKED EVERYWHERE. Stations are not ready. I have found 2 stations where I live that have it. The other stations say it will take them another month or so to go through 3 tanks before it is ULSD. Got any other smart ideas?

Well we are into our second month with out R350. Great MB product..The ride is superior and that space is great (we have three children)...

Performamce is better than expected given the weight of the vehile and the fit and finish are up to MB standards...

In the end the decision to buy a classy automobile vs. a run of mill minivan has proven to be well worth it. We have the space when needed and the ride and craftsmanship of a MB all the time. Great car...

From the "Talk to the Hand" File, it appeared that the old Mercedes-Benz arrogance was back and in full bloom in their latest print ad campaign for the new S-Class. The headline? "At The Top Of The Automobile Industry Is One Company. At The Top Of That Company Is One Car." Then it goes on to suggest in glowing copy that nothing has changed in the automotive world in the least and that the M-B S-Class has always been the world's premier car and that the latest version is no exception, continuing that tradition. Okay, so let's get this straight, Mercedes-Benz snaps its fingers and presses the "reset" button and everything is okay now? After squandering the legacy of one of the world's great brands by building gadget-laden techno-wonders with the reliability of a dollar store compass, M-B wants us all to forget what happened and resume the practice of three-pointed star idolatry? That's notgonnahappen.com. Memo to Dieter and his crew: There's not a snowball's chance in hell that this is how things will work. Before you talk the talk, you have to walk the walk. Mercedes-Benz was once a great brand, but in a world of surprisingly competitive Cadillacs, outstanding BMWs and relentlessly perfect entries from Lexus, Mercedes-Benz is just another car company struggling for the same piece of the luxury-performance pie.

In what was no surprise to us, the new Mercedes-Benz R-Class proved to be a major disappointment in the retail market. The overblown, overwrought and overweight crossover from Mercedes was so far out of whack price-wise right out of the chute that Mercedes was forced to introduce a heavily incentivized lease on the R-Class in a desperate attempt to jump-start the car in the market, as it was selling at only 60 percent of initial projections. At the end of the day, the R-Class was just the latest disappointment in a long line of disappointments from the stumble bums at Mercedes-Benz. They continued to operate as if the world revolved around them, and incredibly enough, they continued to brandish their classic Mercedes-Benz arrogance - even though the luxury market in the U.S. had blown right by them. Mercedes-Benz seemed to be reliving the bad old days of General Motors - long after GM finally realized that business as usual was no longer business as usual. Mercedes now has too many models and too many dealers, and they're trying to chase too many niches in this market while trying to be all things to all people. The pathetic thing is that even when presented with the hard evidence of their errant ways, their arrogance still prevents them from having a clue. The brain-trust at Mercedes seemed to be hell-bent on squandering every last shred of integrity that the brand once enjoyed in this market - and watching these hacks run what was once one of the most envied automotive names in the world right into the ground was like watching a train wreck that you can't take your eyes from.

Garage door/ez-pass by wopel

Anyone having problems programing their new R with their garage door? Also using EZ-pass? I can't seem to do either very well, and I'm not getting much help. The garage door opener works while I'm in the garage, but not out of the garage. I've been on the phone for many minutes with just about everyone. Any help appreciated. (My opener is at least 10 years old - but worked well with my 98 E320 and our new 2007 Lexus...), but not with the R.
