I closed my ski season yesterday and I am just recovering facing a working busy week.    As for the bulls, I tried to run them twice, when I was younger. Here there is now a Traffic Authority campaign against bigger cars because, they say, the bigger the car, the easier for its driver to exceed the speed limit. Yet the majority of the cars that I see exceeding the speed limit on the roads are small cars pushed to the limit of their mechanics   Regards, Jose

Replying to: hypnosis44 (Apr 14, 2007 8:34 pm) I do not see that same inclusion here, but a general dismissal of Hybrids, and gas cars for that matter, as a part of the pantheon of choices.   Hybrids in their present form are problematic. If there were to be a fuel crisis tomorrow, could you...   1. Could you run any gasser hybrid on anything more than E10 reliably without modifying any mechanical part in the engine?   2. Will a gasser hybrid maintain the same level of FE if the amount of ethanol in gasoline increases significantly(40 -60%)?   3. Since the majority of commuting in this country is more highway like than city like, diesel is king for that type of driving whereas hybrid is king for inner city stop and go driving.   Add to this that this is a "Diesel" forum, why would hybrids even be part of the discussion?   There are many of us here who have not dismissed hybrids but do see them as part of the solution to dependence to foreign oil.
