The XE has better incentives than XR as far as I know. The conquest rebate would apply to anyone trading a non-Gm car.

you only have to own a foreign car, not trade it in.

That's correct. The way my dealer explained it is I only had to show my registration to get the conquest rebate, not trade it in. I had a Chrysler and got the rebate, so it is not specific to foreign cars like Honda or Toyota, just any non-GM car. The $1000 conquest cash PLUS the $1500 rebate on my 2007 XR made this a sweet deal.

If I could've gotten that extra $1000 I would have purchased instead of leased. $2500 off is very attractive indeed.

Can anyone point me to a web link with details on the conquest rebate? My boss is in the process of buying an XR and he was unaware of the conquest rebate (and is getting out of a non-GM product), so he might qualify for something. The only info I can find online references a conquest rebate on the 2007 XE models, but I can't find anything about the XR.

That's what I thought too, but post #1404 mentions getting $1,000 conquest money on an XR; just wondering if there were any details about that around or if maybe that was a typo.

even the ads here on Edmunds say its for XE only. I think that is the case, maybe it was a mistake.
 
My 2nd keyfob doesnt work- apparently its not programmed. Pretty annoying.

I have a 2007 Aura XR I leased about 4 months ago.....I was also a GM of a auto dealership for past 30 yrs before retiring last year.
 
  Here is how the Conquest works and all you need to qualify
 
1- You need to have SOMEONE in your house that owns or leases a NON-GM car....any car BUT GM . It can be anyone as long as its in your house and has the SAME address.
2- The PROOF of this rebate is simple and the ONLY way anyone can get it - GM requires a copy of a registration for a Non-GM auto to get this $$$ as a adtl rebate. ( Thats the only way you can get it ) my son had a Toyota but lived at a different address, has the same name BUT different address, this does NOT qualify for the rebate.
3- There is NO way around this but 1 way !!!! You would need to buy a $100 non GM junker from a junk yard and get it registered and use that registration for your Conquest $ only if its worth doing after buying the car and paying for motor veh to register it. Also.....it has to be a NON GM junk car
 
   SORRY>>>>>>>>>> thats the ONLY way you can get the $$
           no other way possible around it. Trust me I worked for them for 30 yrs
