Hello All I just want to inform all people from the Lexus LS forum that there's real prototype photo on the Lexus LS is now available on some member based Japanese and Asian websites. These photos was taken approx 5 days ago while Kevin and Mr. Takada was test driving the new Lexus LS 4.6 liter, short-wheel base prototype outside the outdoor tracks at Toyota's Higashi-Fuji Technical Center. Mr. Erik Bjalkvall and Mr. Nakayama from CarMode Japan were given speical permissions by Kevin and Mr. Takada to take two exterior shots of the new sedan while it has being tested on the test track. Therfore they are the only individuals that have acquired these true photo shots of the sedan...Do not trust anybody else! Currently these photos are only restricted to individuals whom have register and subscribe a monthly fee. That short-wheel base looks small and ugly to me. I seen a picture of the LS 600 in a Road & Track magazine yesterday. Looks real sporty...very nice. Thanks Ken for all your info.

If that's an LS than Lexus has cut the size of its flagship in half. Note how small the tires are also. It's an IS prototype, hardly exclusive and as far removed from an LS as possible. I think we all know that the next car will be radically different but without a doubt it will have some signature carryover of the current car which, we can't forget, is the best selling car in its class. Besides my benchmark of the LS prelim pix/drawings being real is tied to the ability to see these 8 lines that are supposed to intersect somewhere on the side.

Back to you.       According to this site, the S430 is $78, the S500 is $87k.       The most expensive LS is around $72K, and that will have many features that are also optional on the S500.       So the next-gen S-Class will go up in price (most likely, due to currency rates and more equipment) to at least $80k-90k.       And a fully loaded LS and a stripped S430 are NOT COMPARABLE vehicles in performance or features.       Thank you.       DrFill Replies to this message: ljflx (Jun 16, 2005 2:13 pm)

Replying to: callmedrfill (Jun 16, 2005 1:43 pm) You have it wrong. The S-class has, as standard, just about all of the things you get in the ultra package of the LS, things like an air suspension. You have to fully load the LS to match the standard offerings of the S430 and particularly the S500. It's not the other way around. Believe me I shopped these cars heavily in 2001. You don't dress up an S to match an LS ultra. You dress up an LS with the ultra package to match an S. That's why the real pricepoint difference is about $6K on a comparative S430 and LS430 ultra. Lexus will let you have a dressed down car that holds prices in the $60-65K range if you want. MB won't, thus air suspension etc are standard. On top of that you can option out an S with further packages that the LS doesn't offer, like Active Body Control, a designo package etc. As outfitted before these MB extras both the Ultra LS and the S may have things that the other doesn't have but for the most part an Ultra LS is about equal to a base S. Very little has changed on either car's option packages since 2001.

Or am I just so right?         Items on $69k LS430 Ultra Luxury Pkg that are optional on S430:       CD Changer ($430 on S430)       Parking Assist ($1100 on S430)       Heated Front Seats ($680)       Rear Seat Pkg. ($2890)       Xenon Lights & Light Washers ($1250)      Adaptive Cruise ($3110)      Power Door Closers (Trunk Closer $500)      For a grand total of..........darn! My calculator konks out at $85k. Needs a muffler and oil change anyway.      DrFill
