we'll never know the absolute truth until Lexus tells us... Let the waiting begin... |

The grille is Audi's and the *gait* or muscularity is 7, with big "phat" wheels (larger than an 18" rim definitely). But a sketch nonetheless. I'd love to post the pic; maybe after I return back to the States next week I'd be able to... But the R&T article you quote here is interesting. 500HP for the LS600h ? That'd be much higher than the CARTOP *scoop*. But the style you describe sounds eerily close to the one I saw in the mag here. Sporty, yet classic look. And the wheels certainly do fit the wheel well with narry a gap to see. We'll have to wait for more news to spill out about this car, I am afraid....

| Well, the IS500 is rumored to be using a 5.0L 400hp V8, so that would make sense if the same engine was used with an electric motor in the LS600. | |

The idea of an IS500 still cracks me up. Don't know why. Perhaps the 8 intersecting lines in the new LS are too sophisticated for our eyes. |

| I dont think they will. You'll notice Toyota killed off the MR2 Spyder and Celica. The Z already has competition from the S2000, the RX-8, and the new Eclipse. I think Toyota probably feels (and correctly so IMO) that market is already saturated. However, as of right now, Japan has NOTHING in the $50-60K performance coupe market. Mazda, Honda\Acura and Mitsubishi cant compete there, so it makes more sense for Nissan and Toyota to duke it out at that level. | |

BTW, it wasn't a person my age, it was a friend's mother who bought the ES. Nobody I know my age likes any Lexuses except the SC430 and previous GS. I was a fan of the last Supra, I thought everyone knew that. M
