exactly doc...

My guess is that if they really do bring the supra, the Toyota/Lexus sport coupe line up would be along the lines of;

Supra $30k+
IS350 coupe $40k+
IS500 coupe $50k+
SC460 $60k+
SC500 $75k+
LFA $100k+

I could only see a V8 supra coming out as some sort of TRD model (kinda in essence of what the Z06 vette is, but I agree that the vette isn't nor shouldn't be on their menu).

On that note, I wonder how come toyota hasn't stopped production of the Prius? Yes, it sells, but the Camry hybrid is due out and so is the corolla hybrid...what place would it have after those vehicels come out? They are already doing a redesign for it. That being the case, I could see the Volta coming out as part of their 'hybrid only' vehicle line...probably slotting in at around $40k.

I aslo see a redone Scion tc and maybe even a scion convertible (mr-2 replacement) in the next 2 yrs or so. What do u think?

    Stop the Prius?

That is THE hottest car Toyota sells! The only car that has waiting lists.

It will sell 100k units for several years.

Why, though?

I think because it was an exclusive car; it won't be exclusive anymore. It has no business case unless it becomes something else.

It's like the Lexus RX.

There are luxury crossovers, then there is the Lexus RX.

Being the first to nail the market breeds owner loyalty, brand equity, great press, and long-term viability.

The other hybrids will only enhance the Prius' position, and Toyota's image.

Prius customers and Camry customers will never be the same, regardless of powertrain.

I agree now. After some thought I can definitely see your reasoning. I do, however see a major reskinning!

I recently contacted Toyota Canada, through their e-mail support, last night actually. The next day (Proving their extraordinary reliability!) being today, I got a reply back stating that there are no plans to introduce a sports car, and that my (/or the great?) interest for a Toyota sports car is being closely examined. I couldn't copy the message due to Toyota's Disclamier statement, but this is the most I could provide.

Count me in on the movement! I have always loved the Supra, and my family used to own an 89 Turbo Supra (Red!). If Toyota can make the Supra that is shown in the picture I posted, I will be on the list in a heartbeat.

The red Supra in the photo reminds me of both the Supra and the F430 of which I am a huge fan of. If Toyota can make a a Supra and infuse the same passion in design as the F430 I am absolutely sold; scratch the IS 350. I am emailing Toyota with another request to revive the Supra. Toyota needs it! It can only help their image right now in their pivotal move towards youth and spirit!

I just emailed Toyota as well regarding the resurection of the Supra.

In a nutshell I let them know how strongly I felt about the Supra and how others feel as well about it.

We should really let them know how much we want the Supra back, and then we can say that we really did something about it!

We will march in the streets!

We will bulk e-mail. We will write. We will call.

If you see a Toyota rep at the NYIAS (not a spokesmodel), pelt him with Supra questions. He'll tell his boss "Everybody was asking me about the Supra! Are we making that?"

   Y'all have your homework assignment.

Don't make me take my belt off!

Hey "dr fill" i agree w/ u, that if toyota decides to make a supra w/ 325hp under 35k it would sell. But to go as far as to "ATTACK" Vettes i dont think so buddy.
