I heard the good news is that the Jeep Gladiator was given the thumbs up last week (finally)- the bad news is production is not until 2009.

I have emailed DM, I told them to build this truck and I think they are going to listed. And it better be DIESEL! fold down windshield canvas top and all. I want to use it. Practicality is key!

     Who!? Who told you that?
       I was told by a nit-wit car salesman at a dealership in Joliet IL last spring that he'd have gladiators on the lot by '06. Is HE the one who told you that? He LIES. (who'd have guessed?)
  Do you work for DCC? If not, I'm inclined to think you got bogus info,... or you sell cars at a Jeep dealership in J-town

A Japanese manufacturer will build this type of vehicle and the US manufacturers will just hang their heads and wonder why their market share evaporates. Come on Jeep be leader!

That's exactly what's gonna happen! Just stay tuned with
Toyota CJ Cruiser compact PICK UP! And yes, diesel (3.0L or 4.2) with 6-speed manual transmission! Finally dream comes through and I'm going for it

Wow, that sounds like a swell vehicle there. I swore I would never buy domestic ever again then I saw the Jeep Gladiator concept. But hey, if toyota comes out with something like Toyota CJ Cruiser compact pick up, diesel, 6-speed that would be a sweet deal. Jeep is way over priced anyway...and to wait until '09 just ain't gunna fly. You already lost me.
