if DCX decided to build this truck. I'm a former owner of three Cherokees and one Grand Cherokee. I currently drive a '97 Nissan pickup which I like, but would trade in on a Gladiator in a heartbeat. Lose the sliding cab back mechanism in the interest of keeping the price down. Move the fog lights into the bumper to better protect them, like on the new Wrangler. But I love everything else about this truck. I always wanted a Willys pickup as a kid, but never got to own one. Heck, I wouldn't even mind if the model name gets changed to "Scrambler." Doesn't matter what Jeep calls it, just as long as they keep the turbodiesel/6-speed! And the size is just right. Every maker except Ford/Mazda upsized and upscaled their compact trucks just before the hurricanes hit the Gulf coast and fuel prices shot up. Now Ford is selling its long-in-the-tooth Rangers like hotcakes. No small coincidence that Ranger has the best EPA mileage numbers of all pickups. The compact pickup segment is ripe for some competition, and rumor has it that Honda has a little brother to the Ridgeline in the pipeline. C'mon, Jeep. Just do it! |

| I need this vehicle to do my chores around my mini farm. The need for something that is small enough to maneuver in a tight space coupled with Jeep toughness is what is needed. The longevity of a diesel as a daily driver for someone that drives 70 miles a day in a commute would keep my fuel expense in check in a long lasting drive train package. The time to build this thing is now. | |

I got this from another site... thought you might be interested... Greetings all, My name is Dan and I represent the Jeep Information Center. I wanted to make everyone aware of the new product reveal occurring on April 12th We have selected the Moab Safari as the ideal location to show off our new offerings, talk shop and get dirty with enthusiast owners. This year Jeep will be displaying many vehicles including the All-New 2007 Jeep Wrangler and a brand new, never revealed vehicle at 4:00 PM. To sweeten the deal, there will be daily giveaways including a raffle for 3 grand prizes for all who attend. If you cannot attend the Moab Event, you can check out the 2007 Wrangler online by Clicking Here (link deleted). Further more, jeep has donated a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon to the Red Rock 4-Wheelers to be raffled off to help raise awareness for the Multiple Use Defense (MUD) Fund. If you would like additional information, please visit www.rr4w.com. Thanks for listing and see you there, (signed) Dan I know this never revealed stuff my rule out the Gladiator, but maybe a Hemi version of the Rubicon? Any other thoughts? My thinking is Gladiator too as they never officially said it would be produced and was only a concept vehicle. -Paul

I'll tell you what, The first vehicle I ever bought was a 1972 3/4 ton Jeep J-4000 pick up. It was the best thing that ever happened to me! Ok, enough of the drama...but it really was a great truck and no other truck was built or has since been built that is tougher! Bold statement but true! The only problem with those trucks was that they were very prone to rust damage! I sold that truck 2 years ago...and regret it every day. I first caught wind of the new Gladiator concept about a year ago. I AM VERY EXCITED about it and have written and called Diamler begging for it's production. My only fear is they'll trim it down to be another tin-can style stuck that they produced in the 80's. Please do not do that to us. If you build a Gladiator (in diesel) that even remotly resembles the concept version I will buy the first off the assembly line! Kudos to Jeep if you make this happen! |

I don't usually post messages but I feel strongly about wanting a Jeep Truck also...and it would be great in diesel!! I too, have been waiting for the Gladiator to become a reality and I certainly would be the first in line in my area to purchase one. One rule of thumb that a lot of business' go by is that for every 1 that takes the time to call or write, there is at least 10 others out there that feel the same way. So come on DC, let's have the Jeep Diesel Truck...I'll bet there is a lot more than a ten to one ratio out here that would buy a Jeep Diesel Truck...I know that I have talked to a lot more than 10 other Jeepers that want a Jeep Truck RIGHT NOW, especially with Diesel!!!

Why is it when I go to Europe I see some very, very cool diesel powered vehicles. Mid-sized SUV's and pickups with diesel engines are everywhere. Why can't we get that here? I've held off buying a new vehicle because I was hoping the Gladiator would be put into production a bit sooner then it is now being projected to be produced. I'm hearing "maybe '09 or '10" by my local dealer. This is way too long! I hope you guys know what you're doing by waiting so long. |

It really had my juices flowing. I,m Hardcore Surf fisherman every chance I get, Gladiator would have been great rig for me. The Detroit Diesel if like old one runs & runs. All and all I loved it,but broke down and bought 06 Frontier SE KC 4x4 4.0 v6 limited slip rear. Should work well in sand, big step up from 94 nissan 4x4 4 banger power wise. Anyway still like Gladiator Concept, but will they ever build it? |
