Ahh, come-on, now you have to tell us what your favorite color is....
(And what did you paid that color???)

On topic: would you paint a project car that color?

Yeah, that last pic was taken back in 1998. Heck, all four of those cars in the back are gone now! Well, the Dart's not gone yet, the guy paid for it at least...so as far as I'm concerned it's no longer mine, at least! I think the pic before it, with the top up, was taken in 1999, just after I bought my Intrepid.

I kinda like that car. Looks like it's all business and no pretense or flash. It looks like a refrigerator compared to a Chevelle, Tempest, etc of the era, but that's part of its charm!

One car I'd really like to get ahold of one day (when I have the finances and the space) is a '68-70 Plymouth Satellite or a '68-69 Dodge Coronet hardtop coupe. Nothing too fancy, just a 318, or maybe a 383. Only problem is, I think most people are turning them into clones of Roadrunners, Superbees, GTXes, etc. A monstrous 440 would be cool, but I want one that I could drive on a regular basis, and the 318 wouldn't be too horrible on gas.

Sometimes I wonder if I should have just sunk some money back into my '68 Dart to get it roadworthy again, but after two of those things and over 112,000 miles combined, I'm sort of Darted out!

Andre, you do seem to get attached to your cars. I think that it was time to let the Dart go. From the little that I remember of what you have told us about it, I think that it was a losing proposition: too far gone to justify the expense to set it right.

If you really want to relive the "Dart experience", I'm sure that you could find a fairly nice example for not too much money. In the current economic climate, I am already seeing people trying to unload their extra vehicles to free up some cash.

With older cars, like your Dart, there is usually no lien holder, so the seller can drop the price to whatever level it takes to find a buyer. With newer cars, that is frequently not an option, because there is a balance due to the bank that must be paid before the deal can be done.

"So long old friend, good-bye Dart..."

Hmm pink Miata for $8500 yeah, what a deal!!!

I don't think I'd be putting a deposit on ANYTHING that's not built yet. Well, maybe a Delorean or a Bricklin.... those were machines of the day!!!!

I looked at a 1964 Pontiac Bonneville convertible that was for sale locally. I think its original color was "dusty rose", sort of a red metallic. Unfortunately, it had been repainted lavender. The car had issues galore that I probably could have tolerated. But that color was just the icing on the cake. I just couldn't bring myself to do it!
