Makes me want to buy one, and I don't even own a Tribeca!

Nail Polish on leather seat by jerrys2

This probably is not the correct board for this question, but here goes. My wife spilled tan nail polish on our black leather seats, it dried and now almost seems to be part of the seat , it won't wash off. Can I use nail polish remover? Or any suggestions would be appreciated.

It will get the polich off, question is will it damage the leather underneath.

Is it on the leather seating surface, or the vinyl portion of the chair? I bet the vinyl is more resistant.

Check with a local detail shop. You might try DL automotive hand cleaner. May be too late now the polish is set, but it's done wonders getting paint and oil stains out for me. Nail polish remover shouldn't hurt the leather but could fade the colour. You should be okay if you are very careful (rag over finger-tip and Q tips) and keep it to the polish only. I've successfully used acetone on one very stubborn stain without harming the leather or finish. You can always have someone blend in new black if everything goes awry.

I never thought I would have to tell my wife that she can't use nail polish in the car, but that's what I'm going to do when I finish typing this.

No way I'd ever allow it, that stuff STINKS!

I can't even be in the same room as her when she does that.

Have a look at this discussion: Cleaning Leather/Cloth Interiors. Maybe you'll find some tips or you can ask there, also. Let us know how you make out.

Yes, especially with "telling" your wife not to use nail polish in the car. I know right where that would get me, and it certainly is not into a clean car!
