2007 B9 Tribeca is expected to be unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show next week. One of the rumored changes is availability of a mesh grill. Not sure if it'll be black, body color or chrome. I'd wait to see what happens on that front before looking anywhere else. It may be just a matter of ordering the parts from Subaru in a few months, once the '07s are for sale.

Great info, much appreciated. I e-mailed AVElectronic to get pricing and info on the wiring and rgb synch convertor. Will let you know how it progresses.

Thanks for the info on the Detroit show. I think a Chrome mesh insert, would clean up the front and give my Obsidian Black Tribeca an edgier look. I also removed the dealer badging and the words "Subaru" and "Tribeca" leaving only the B9. I lived in Europe for a while and badging removal was the norm. It also confuses the hell out of people, who have asked me if I had a modified Murano or FX35. I like not seeing my vehicle around every turn, so if they can't figure it out I say it's a new Alfa Romeo, just to confuse them further (there is some truth to that statement...

I also removed all but the B9.. I started with just the Subaru. but I definitely prefer just the B9 as the best. I have seen a totally naked back end and did not like it. just too empty. also easier to wax the back hatch now with only B9 to worry about

WOW! Thanks for the post! We'll definitely offer this as an option.

I have also had this problem with the hatch falling on our heads. Seems to me to be worse in cold weather, but that could just be a coincendence?? My dealer said he can't get the parts now- probably cause they are changing to a new one- and they will call me when he can get the new struts in. I'd think they would want to handle a potential safety issue faster than they are?!!

It's probably a supplier issue - they have a fix but can't get enough of them to meet demand (both from existing owners and for newly assembled models).

In Philly they showed a black mesh grille, we've also seen a chrome one so it looks like these will be the 2 options. Hope so, I'd prefer the black.

It was not a black mesh grille. It was the current grille, just all black with no chrome accents.

Just completed 1,000 miles. I have noticed kind of a rough idle, when I am at a stop with my foot on the brake. Just feels rougher than it should and at a stop I feel a mild vibration in the pedal from the rough idle. The Tribeca I test drove did not have this issue and I had a Legacy GT for 2 days as a loaner and at times did not even realize the vehicle was on. Any thoughts?
