I saw on another message board there was a dealer in LA who specialized in selling used TDIs in CA with 7500 miles so they can be registered.   Does anyone know the dealership?   thanks

I just closed the deal over the phone and by email on a 2005 Stonehenge gray Passat GLS Wagon TDI. It has Anthracite leather with wood trim, 17" wheels, splash guards etc. Total out the door price was $3000 under MSRP $26,589. They have several in stock. Go to the Internet salesman to get the best deal. Very pleasant fellow to deal with. Very responsive by email and cell phone. Flying up in a week to do a road trip and check it out. Replying to: nova (Apr 02, 2005 6:09 pm) The dealer I bought from is Armstrong Buick VW just outside Portland Oregon. Email the Internet sales person. I guarantee you will like him. Great experience. very good communication on pricing etc. They have several Passat Wagon TDI's in stock and will go to other dealers to get what you want at the price you want to pay.   PS Oregon does not have any sales tax so registration is between you and your local DMV. Replying to: nova (Apr 03, 2005 2:31 pm) Just a hint on getting a good deal. Go to www.vw.com in the locator look for all the VW dealers in a 200 mile radius from your home. Look in their inventory for the model you like. email them asking for the best price. The price they have listed will usually be MSRP or even higher. They are all trying to move cars right now so it is a good time to buy. You can call also. I find I get less runaround with email. It also lets you know if they have an active Internet sales department. Good luck, here is one place with lots of VW TDIs in Florida. Replying to: mike91326 (Apr 06, 2005 8:42 am) I am an Alaska resident and will have the car licensed in Alaska. I may also take this car to Hawaii for our time spent over there. Not sure if I will like it. It is the first car I have owned in years. If it is not what I want I will take a couple long trips and sell it after it gets 7500 miles on it. It should bring good money in So California. I will be using ULSD as it is available very close to my San Diego home.
