It seems some people like to act a little superior on this thread and forget that it is for everyone....not just diesel junkies. I'll give a shot at deciphering for you. Reg Unleaded Gas(RUG) and Premium Unleaded Gas(PUG) put out about 30 parts per million of sulphur polutant The new clean Diesel(D2) puts out from about 15 parts per million to 5 parts per million. I have no idea what "INXS" means but I think he is indicating that 98% of people still buy a gas vehicle which puts out between 2 and 6 times the sulphur polutants than the new clean diesel fuel does. From everything I've read the new diesel doesn't smell much but I have noticed a tinge of soot around the exhaust pipes of new Jetta TDIs I have been behind on the road.

No it is just the information has been repeated any exponential number of times and it seems the only ones who seem to "get it" ARE your words "diesel junkies". The residual in the overwhelming number of cases seems to be continuing dis belief. So it is refreshing to see that "other than" folks seem to at least understand it. However that understanding seemingly hasn't done much to motivate many to ...try/switch.
