| Just wondering if anyone knows if the Comfortline TDI wagon is a scarce commodity in Canada? Am dickering with a dealer and getting the ole "We can barely get these, we can't give it to you for that price..." schtick. | |

Hi Everyone! Just went to one of the VW Deals night thingy where you can get some free food and drink. I settled on a Jetta TDI Highline (I live in Canada) with ESP and Rear Side Airbags for $31500 for everything including taxes. Would this be considered a deal? Thanks! |

| The dealer held firm at their price. When I calculate up from invoice, it appears they want 11% profit. Maybe I'm out of touch with how popular this model is but jeez that seems a bit rich. | |

| Forgot to back out the tax. There's a reason I don't do math for a living. The markup is closer to 6.5%, maybe that's not so bad for a hotly desired car? | |

Replying to: pylot135 (May 11, 2009 7:37 am) For anyone shopping their deals against the rest of the VW dealerships, here's a llink to the (I think) best prices on 09' Jetta TDI's with nice options. For anyone on the East Coast, these posted low internet prices are a good thing to print out and put down on any Sales managers desk when they start giving you the hard sell....here's todays list.. http://www.fitzautomall.com/fitzway/carfind/resultsa.asp |

Jersey Dealership Paid $21,783 for a TDI Sunroof and ipod connector, $150 title/registration fees 197.75 Other clerical fees (too tired to negotiate) Total 22,130.75 Invoice: 24,041 Just a FYI, I feel I got jacked on my trade in by $500 - 1) Check out costco or BJ's auto program- will get you a dealer atleast who is willing to talk (I got an great quote, which I parlayed into a better one from a closer dealer) 2) Did internet quotes, after first good quote, I told others what I was offered, as for match or lower. 3) That Fitzmall site, is a good site to give you an idea of what dealers can go down to. Granted I wasnt going to VA to get a car, but I knew how low the dealers I was working with could go. 4) Also for financing, get your own, and use that as a bargening. The dealership beat chase bank which was offering me 4.75 APR by .10 . Not much but if I didnt have the backup of chase they probably would have banged me out. |
