Does Ford Still Stand For "Fix Or Repair Daily" by allcarsrcool

I Love the new ford mustang convertable, but, I've heard about some engine issues with other fords in the past. I have heard that they spend more time in the "shop" than in the driveway and that they are constantly breaking down... Is this true? Does it carry over to the new Mustang?... Are there ford owners out there that could tell me otherwise?

The only thing I can say, is that I've had a '98 GT since new, and in 8 years have not had any major problems. I replaced the alternator and radiator this year but that's it.

I have never changed a single bulb - headlight, tail-light, nothing. The interior has held up well, and the paint still looks great. Of course, I garage it, but people can't believe it's 8 years old.

It consistently makes 21 mpg city, 25 highway. I'm lurking in this forum because I plan on buying a new GT sometime this year.

life any vehicle none are exactly the same.
my '91 gt vert is low mileage, but only 1 problem since i bought it new.
escept for gas, oil, air and oil filters, it all original.
to be honest, i'm worried about anyone touching it.
have some other cars that had no problems until i brought them in for service.

What does this have to do with Prices Paid? You should be on the 2005+ Problems!

I AM IN CENTRAL CALIFORNIA. I CAN GET A GT AUTOMATIC FOR INVOICE. IS IT WORTH IT OR IS IT BETTER TO WAIT FOR A 2007 GT MANUAL AND PAY OVER INVOICE?

Can only say you need to test drive both, auto and manual, and make up your own mind. If you want your hand on that marvelous engine, then manual is mandatory.

... say things that are confusing. A guy today told me that Mustang has a new two-seater, but I am not finding it. Does it have a different name, or is he seeing things? (Like ads for Saturn Skys or Pontiac Solstices?

Thanks, Travis209

Nope...no 2 seater for Mustangs. All production Mustangs, of any year, have always come with a back seat.
