Is ACC or Trip Computer more important? [ateixeira] by hansienna

I made the mistake of placing more value on the Trip Computer than separately controlled temperature for driver, front passenger, and rear passengers when I got my 2006 Sienna LE.

The Odyssey EX has the ACC but NO Trip Computer but I could have purchased a GC SXT with Trip Computer AND separately controlled temperature for 3 zones (but NOT ACC) for less than I paid for my Sienna LE. (and also have power sliding doors both sides, cast wheels, and a cassette player).

As stated earlier, the 2007 Sienna has MORE power than the 2006 Sienna while keeping the same EPA fuel economy ratings and the price increase was very modest.

Got Rid of our 04 for an 07 Sienna by hause7

We got rid of our 2004 Toyota Sienna Limited AWD and got a used 2007 Sienna XLE with package 6.

We paid only $22,881 for it and it is fully loaded with only 20,805 miles. Awesome Deal

Love the new engine and gets way better gas mileage then our 04 AWD. I like the new opitron gauges a lot. Bluetooth is nice and the Dvd/Navigation is awesome!!!

WOW...VERY BIG DEPRECIATION for a fully loaded 1 year old Sienna XLE that proves my previous posts stating that Sienna's depreciate faster than Chrysler minivans.

Awesome deal is right! By my estimate that about 13K off the MSRP of a similarly equipped 2009. Around here the dealers want that much for a 2007 LE with EVP1 and wouldn't budge even when I told them they were nuts and walked away. If I could have found a deal like you did I would have bought used.

As it is, after 2 months and 3Kmiles we are still quite pleased with our 2008 LE with EV2 and Audio upgrade. It is quiet and quick and gets excellent fuel economy.

It was a Repo and bought at an Auto Auction here in the S.F. Bay Area, that's why they sold it so cheap to us. It also is missing it's second row seats but they ordered them and we are having them installed tomorrow. They were asking $25,000 but my grandma is a good negotiator

It is still worth $24,900 if we traded it in and $30,500 if the dealer wanted to sell it for that much. Check KBB. 08 Town&Country Touring's in my area are selling for $15-20K with under 30K miles.

Our van also has wheel covers but they are going to switch them tomorrow hopefully.

Have to disagree here - both my wife and I agree that our '08 Ody EX has the most UNCOMFORTABLE driver seat of any car we have EVER owned. It is downright painful on trips over 45 minutes. Both of us are healthy and have no back problems (except when we drive the Ody on long trips)! The other seats are fine, just the driver seat is terrible.

I'm in the Bay Area too, down in San Jose. At a couple of dealerships I told the guys in the used car departments they needed to talk to the counterparts in new cars if they thought their vans were so valuable.

A repo at auction with a missing second row explains something of the price though it sounds like they are giving you the seats with the price of the van. Still not a bad deal.

I also noted that while Toyota and Honda dealers wanted more than $20K for relatively barebone 2007 vans, the 2007 Chryslers and Dodges could be had in the low teens. Our problem was that as much as we disliked the 2008 models, the 2007 and older were much worse. My wife felt especially glad of our choice a few weeks ago at a Las Madres activity when a Chrysler T&C (the only American brand vehicle there) wouldn't start and had to get towed. Scenes like that are exactly why the Big Three are losing their shirts and have to beg the Government for bailouts.

About 7 seconds, wow, not bad.

DCX vans depreciate quite fast. When I shopped I found new vans for $22k and 1 year old vans for $15k, or about 32% depreciation hit the first year.

And that's retail resale at $15k. Wholesale trade would probably be more like $12-13k.

There's no way the residuals are better. ALG has the Sienna well ahead of the DCX vans, too.

hi Hause,
wow, you are right that's an awesome deal that your grandma got for this baby. As you know I just bought the same one from toyota dealership at 5.4k more than what you paid for it. I'm so impressed. I'm now interested in the auto auction. How does it work? Did they have a base price before you place a bid. What're their fees associate with your winning bid? Does your bid include the license/registration and tax ??? We need a 2nd car, this might be where we 'd shop for it!

I think you got the best deal on this limited compared to all peaple that I know whom own one of these.
