Do you happen to have a TSB reference, or is there a (limited range of VIN) recall?

It is Service Bulletin 06-024, dated May 26, 2006.

All 2005s are covered, and two different VIN ranges of the 2006s.

Should I buy Ody 2005 or 2004 by iffi

Hi all,

I am in the market to buy a mini van and Odyssey is my top choice. I want to get a 2-3 year old van. I had been thinking of getting a 2005, but after reading many of the issues with 2005 on this forum, I am wondering if it is better for me to buy a 2004 or 2005. Suggestions that compare the two would be very much appreciated. Also, would it better for me to buy the bullet and get a 2006, if there is a big difference b/w 2005 and 2006.

Thanks
Iffi

If you can afford it buy a new '07. There are great deals out there right now. I've found that 1 or 2 year old used Hondas are only a couple thousand less than a new one. Check the prices paid forum.

If you go with a used one, I would suggest a '05+ model. The only major problem is the drone defect to watch for. The brakes & rattles are easily fixed with TSB's.

The '04 is essentially 1999 technology & the transmissions are suspect in that generation. The Honda V6 class action settlement doesn't include 2004 so you roll the dice.

Also, the '05+ rides much, much better & is definitely more modern looking inside & out.

Used Hondas are overly pricey. Buy a new '07 right now. You should be able to get an LX for 22K or less.

Question about 07 odyssey by newperson

Does anyone know if the 2007 odyssey EX include mats for the third row or
trunck. When I test drove the car I saw there were some mats in a package
inside the car which are to be used after people fold-into-the-floor third-
row seat. But after I bought it and found there are no more mats. Sales man
told me that I need to buy the mats separately.

Did the saleman cheat me?

Thank you!

sounds like someone stole your mats. It comes standard with mats for all 3 rows, but nothing for the trunk. Go make a stink and demand your mats. Check with the Honda corporate web site first to confirm.

2006 EX used? by suzannek

After researching, test driving, looking, checking other vans out ad nauseum, I'm going to check out a Certified Used '06 EX Monday. Have done research on prices for Certified Used in my area and the vehicle is presently listed below Edmunds, KBB prices. I know that I can't know EVERYTHING until I've seen interior, exterior, had mechanic check it, etc. But am wondering if it's too good to be true...Carfax and AutoCheck come back with no problems or issues, with only 1 owner before being sold at auction in NY and sent to IL. Mileage is low (9700). Can it be that the dealer has priced it well for the market in my area? It's listed at $23988. Anything I should be wary of when checking it out? (Have only purchased used from private parties before.) Not emotionally attached to getting this, but it sure does seem like a decent used deal...Thanks in advance for any tips!
